Terms as published for the 2025 holidays, the latest out when checked on September 28, 2026. Many also require the machine unused, and some makers charge a 10 to 20 percent restocking fee. First mow: April to early May for cool-season lawns. Sources: Best Buy, Most makers' own stores, Lowe's, Target, Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Husqvarna's own store, Costco, first mow.
Spring · first mow, first swim
A holiday price now. It starts work when the ground thaws or the pool opens. 86 robot mowers and 48 pool robots are in the guide.

Buy it at a holiday price, wrap it, and it starts work when the pool opens. Its return window will have closed by then, so open the box and check it in December.
Open “For anyone” in the list above and choose “A parent or grandparent.” The robots with the shortest setup come first. Setting it up before you give it helps more than any feature.
Yes, if you plan for spring. It is unwrapped in December and mows in April, and every dated return window closes before then. Open it and charge it straight away. See “When can it go back?” above.
Not as a holiday gift. A humanoid preorder today is a deposit on hardware that is not shipping in volume. It will not be doing anything useful on the 26th.
Some robots lose major functions. Neato switched off its cloud on October 6, 2025, and its robots lost their app, schedules and maps. Choosing “A parent or grandparent” above puts robots that keep working through an outage first.
It can be. A card says so when the maker already sells a newer model of the same line. To check one that is not listed, use “Have a robot in mind?” above.
Yes. Two Yarbo models are in stock in the US today: the Y40 at $4,899 on sale (list $6,199) and the Y40P Core at $7,799. None has a Robovations Score yet. Three others are not in stock or rated Known Issues. “Snowblowing” in the list above shows each one with its rating.
Not to clean. Of the 166 robot vacuums rated Ready Now, we confirmed the terms for 163, and none needs a paid plan. “What it asks after the box,” above, shows the plans.
No. Each one still needs emptying, cleaning and new parts. A robot vacuum in this guide takes a median of 60 minutes a month, by our estimate. The note in the box, above, says what it asks of them.
Each robot is listed with what it does and what it still asks of its owner. A robot gets in by passing every step below, in this order. A sale never decides it.
Snowblowing and Humanoids list 10 more, whatever their rating. Each of those cards prints its rating.
The guide last changed on October 9, 2026, when a robot joined or left it. Sale prices are read from the makers' own stores through the day, last on October 10 at 6:13 AM ET. A reading more than six hours old is not shown.
The chore list is each robot’s upkeep routine and owner time, as its record states them. Owner time is our estimate from owner reports and the maker’s manual, not a measurement. Setup time is typical for the kind of machine, not timed per robot. Paid-plan status comes from each maker’s own pages and app store listings, checked September 28 and 29 and October 6, 2026. A year of parts is counted from the interval each record gives, and an interval that is not a number (“as needed”) is left in words; a mowing season counts as seven months. How a mower finds the edge is read from its record’s navigation. How well a robot fits a home is its Fit Check, read through the same evaluator as the Fit Finder. “Newer model out” appears only where the maker has put the next generation of the same line on sale. Litter boxes and companion robots are told apart by what each record says the machine is. List prices are the makers’.
Some links on robot cards earn Robovations a commission. That never affects whether a robot appears in this guide, where it appears, or how it is classified. Affiliate disclosure.
