OperationHow does the heated water system work?
Heating happens in the PowerDock, not on the robot. The dock’s AceClean DryBoard system washes the mop pads with water at 167°F (75°C), selectable across four temperature settings, then hot-air dries them before the next run. The robot carries no heater and does not dispense heated water onto the floor.
OperationCan the robot mop without vacuuming?
Yes. App allows per-schedule mode selection: vacuum-only, mop-only, or combined. Mop-only mode deactivates suction and activates dual-tank dispensing. Owner reports confirm mop-only extends battery 40% on hard floors over combined mode.
OperationWhat happens if the dock placement changes?
The robot reuses the stored map and obstacle locations on the next run. If the dock has been moved, docking can overshoot or undershoot until the map is updated, so re-map after a significant relocation. Dreame publishes no distance threshold for this.
OwnershipHow often do mop pads need replacement?
Pads are washable, not disposable. Weekly hand-washing or 2-week washer cycle recommended. Lifespan reported by owners at 3-4 months (100+ dock cycles) before fraying. Replacement cost $28 per pair.
OperationDoes it handle pet hair?
The HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush is built to cut and clear wrapped hair rather than let it bind on the roller. Vacuum Wars measured 100 percent pet hair pickup and 90 percent deep carpet cleaning in its testing of this model. Dreame publishes no entanglement comparison against other brush types. Heated pad washing happens in the dock and is not a substitute for enzymatic pet cleaners on the floor.
CompatibilityWhat app permissions does it require?
App requests location (for no-go zone mapping), camera (setup walkthrough), and network access. Privacy policy allows map storage on Dreame cloud for 90 days. Local option unavailable. Encryption key retention not addressed in documentation.
