No. Surfer S1 is a dedicated surface skimmer. Manufacturer specifications confirm waterline-only operation for floating-debris collection. It does not brush, scrub, or vacuum floors or walls.
OperationHow long does a single charge last?
Aiper specifies 20 hours of battery life for the Surfer S1. Independent coverage puts a full charge at around ten hours of active skimming. The unit is designed to stay in the pool and top itself up from the sun rather than be run to empty and taken out to charge.
CompatibilityCan I control it with an app?
Yes. The Surfer S1 works with the Aiper App, which provides manual control, battery status and pool temperature. Aiper publishes no scheduling function for it, so cycles are started rather than programmed, and app use requires an Aiper account.
OwnershipWhat is the maintenance schedule?
Empty the 5 L filter basket and rinse the 200 micron element as it fills. Wipe the solar panel monthly to keep charging output up. Inspect the propeller and seals every few months, and replace the intake gasket if visible wear develops. There is no filter cartridge or brush to buy.

Solar output falls with light, so extended overcast slows the rate at which the pack recovers. Aiper publishes no seasonal operating window and no minimum light level for the Surfer S1, so how much a given pool loses to weather depends on its exposure.

The unit continues to circulate but stops collecting. The 5 L basket is emptied by hand and the 200 micron element rinsed. Aiper publishes no fill interval; how often it needs emptying depends on the debris load of the pool.
OperationCan it operate in saltwater pools?
Yes. Aiper states the Surfer S1 works in standard, saltwater and natural pools, with a stated tolerance up to 6,500 ppm NaCl. Rinse the unit with fresh water after use, as with any equipment run in salt-chlorinated water.
