OperationDoes the Osprey 700 operate autonomously once it is in the water?
Within a cycle, yes. Route planning is onboard: the unit runs A-star path planning from its own sensors and gyroscopes and is not given pool dimensions or a shape category beforehand. The parts that are not autonomous sit at either end of the run. The owner carries the unit to the pool and drops it in, and at the end of the cycle the unit self-parks against the wall and waits to be lifted out and charged.
OperationWhat runtime does a full charge provide?
Wybot rates the unit at up to 110 minutes on floor cleaning. Wall and waterline work draws more power than floor-only running, so a cycle that includes them ends sooner. Debris density and water temperature also affect the figure, and no independently verified runtime under mixed conditions could be established.
OwnershipHow often do filter cartridges need replacement, and what do they cost?
Wybot publishes no replacement interval and no cartridge price that could be verified. The cartridges are rinsed after every cycle and replaced when rinsing no longer restores flow, which depends on how much fine debris the pool takes in over a season.
OperationCan the robot climb walls autonomously?
Yes. Wall climbing is one of the features the model is sold on: the unit runs a dedicated wall-climbing path and covers floor, walls and waterline in the same cycle rather than as an operator-supervised pass. Cordless cleaners at this price commonly cover the floor only.
CompatibilityDoes the Osprey 700 require WiFi for basic operation?
No. The unit is started at the machine and runs a full cycle without an internet or app connection. The app adds status monitoring, cleaning history and scheduling.
OperationWhat happens if the battery depletes mid-cycle?
The unit self-parks: it drives to the section of pool wall where it was dropped in and holds there so the owner can hook it out with a pool pole. It does not dock and does not charge itself. Charging is done out of the water by removing the cap on top of the unit and plugging in the cable, with hands-on testing reporting roughly 3.5 hours to a full charge. Cleaning resumes when the owner re-launches it.
