OWNERSHIP

Living with it.

Established 12+ month platform; incremental firmware refinements show sustained performance; dock reliability excellent.

Stableowner-reported arc

The record so far

Active owner base with incremental obstacle detection and dock reliability improvements through early 2025. Owner reports confirm sustained suction and motor durability across extended cycles. Dock pump and heating element show no widespread failure patterns.

Upkeep routine
Each useEvery cycle

Empty the mopping water , rinse the mop tray, check dock dust cap alignment.

Weekly52×/yr

Wash the dock filter, clear hair from the main and the FlexiArm side brush, inspect the spray nozzles for clogs.

Monthly12×/yr

Wipe the dock spray heads and wash tray with clean water, check suction, wipe the LiDAR window and the front camera. Water only: vinegar and descaling acid attack the dock's pump and seals.

Seasonal4×/yr

Replace main bristles (approximately $25 replacement cost).

Replace the dock's 2.5 L disposable . Roborock sells the official 6-pack for $25.59, about $4.30 a bag, so bags run roughly $25 a year.

Yearly1×/yr

Inspect all seals and water for leakage and calibrate camera focus.

As neededno fixed schedule

Manual tangle removal from the side brush, remapping if furniture moves significantly, unclogging water nozzles. Refill the dock's detergent reservoir with Roborock's own solution only.

Common questions

What people actually ask.

6 answered
CompatibilityDoes it work without WiFi after initial setup?
A saved map and a cycle started from the robot’s own button run without an active connection, but the app, map management and firmware updates need WiFi. There is no separate local-only mode to switch on, and object recognition runs on the robot either way.
OwnershipHow often does the dock bag need replacing, and what's the cost?
Roborock’s replacement guidance and owner reports both land at 60-90 days depending on home size and pets. The dock takes 2.5 L disposable bags, sold by Roborock in a 6-pack for $25.59, about $4.30 each, so bags cost roughly $25 a year. Filter cleaning is weekly, taking 2-3 minutes.
OperationHow small an object can it detect, and does it see transparent items?
Roborock specifies Reactive AI 2.0 as recognizing 73 object types down to 5 cm wide and 3 cm tall, which covers socks, cords and pet toys. Below that floor, thin cables and lint, and transparent surfaces at any size, are frequently missed per owner reports.
ComparisonHow does hot-water mopping perform on kitchen tile versus stone?
Owner reports show good results on smooth tile; grout lines reduce effectiveness. Hot water prevents bacterial growth. Drying takes 4-6 hours per manufacturer guidance; textured surfaces may streak.
OperationDoes obstacle detection depend on the cloud?
No. Reactive AI 2.0 recognition runs on the robot itself, and Roborock does not describe cloud-assisted obstacle detection. There is also no user-facing switch that turns cloud sync off: the account and map sync are part of normal operation.
OperationHow many rooms can the map handle simultaneously?
Manufacturer specs support up to 4 independent floor maps plus unlimited room zones per floor. Owner reports confirm multi-floor homes handle 8-12 room partitions without performance loss.
