Vacuum Wars bought the unit and scored it 84 in their deep clean test, "not only well above average but the best score we have ever seen with any Roborock," with solid results on both general debris pickup and carpet. They also establish that the plain Q5 is the same robot as the Q5+ minus the auto-empty dock, so on this record a person empties the bin between runs, and the older style brushroll handles hair worse than other Roborocks.

No. LiDAR mapping creates a digital map; no wire setup required. You define no-go zones and restricted areas in the app.

OperationCan the Q5 handle multiple floors if you move it between levels?

Yes. Upload a new map for each floor in the app. The robot remembers multiple maps and selects the right one when moved, per owner reports.

OperationWhat's the difference between Q5 and S7?

S7 adds mopping (retractable pads, water tank) and costs roughly $200-300 more. Navigation and mapping are effectively identical; mopping adds weekly pad-washing effort.
