Wybot C1

Cordless operation removes the cable and the swivel. The machine holds itself to the wall with the reaction force of a water jet driven by its main motor, and it cleans floors, walls, waterline, steps and slopes, with Floor, Wall, and Wall-then-Floor modes to choose which surfaces a given cycle covers. The trade-off is a bounded battery cycle and a machine that has to be lifted out to charge.

OperationDoes the Wybot C1 adhere equally well to vinyl, fiberglass, and concrete pool walls?
Wybot states the C1 supports all pool shapes and both above-ground and in-ground pools, and publishes no surface-material exclusion. The machine holds itself to the wall with the reaction force of a water jet driven by its main motor rather than by gripping the surface, so wall texture and porosity are not the governing variable they would be for a contact-grip cleaner.
OperationHow does the C1 stay on a vertical pool wall without a cable?
Its main motor drives a jet of water outward, and the reaction force from that jet holds the machine firmly against the wall. There are no magnets and no suction cups. Pool walls are vinyl, fiberglass, concrete, plaster or gunite, none of which are ferromagnetic, so a magnetic system could not work on any of them. Wybot rates the machine for walls, waterline, floors, steps and slopes.
OperationCan the C1 dock automatically, or does it require manual retrieval from the pool?
The C1 self-parks. At the end of a cycle it drives to the pool wall and holds there so the machine can be picked up without fishing for it. There is no dock; it charges from the supplied charger out of the water. Someone still lifts it out, but the machine positions itself for that rather than stopping wherever the battery ran down.
OperationWhat is the runtime, and does battery performance degrade in cold water?
Approximately 90-120 minutes per charge under normal conditions. Cold-water operation (below 60 degrees) reduces runtime by 15-20%, per owner reports.
OperationWhat are the recurring consumables on the C1?
The filter and the brush. The filter is rinsed after every cycle and replaced when the media degrades or flow drops; the brush is replaced when it no longer makes consistent contact. There are no adhesion pads or wall-contact consumables, because the wall hold comes from water jet thrust rather than from a contact surface.
