Stiga A 1500

A wire-free mower using satellite navigation to eliminate perimeter-installation friction. The appeal depends on whether regional RTK correction services are available and whether the buyer has smartphone integration comfort.

Common questions

What people actually ask.

5 answered
OperationDoes the Stiga A 1500 require a perimeter wire, or does it use GPS for boundaries?
It uses RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) satellite positioning for wire-free boundary definition. Virtual boundaries are set via smartphone app by walking the property perimeter. No physical wire installation is required, but RTK correction service availability is critical to accuracy.
OperationDoes the A 1500 need a GNSS correction service subscription?
No. The reference station that supplies the corrections ships in the box and is part of the required setup, so the correction source is your own station rather than a regional network. Stiga states that its autonomous mowers come with free connectivity for the lifetime of the robot at no extra cost; the link between mower, station and cloud is 4G. There is no correction subscription to buy or renew.
OperationHow accurate is the RTK positioning, and can it get lost like a wire-guided mower?
RTK positioning is typically accurate to within 2-5 cm with a clear satellite view and the reference station in range. Heavy tree cover, roof overhang or building shadow degrade the fix, and the mower cannot hold its mapped boundary without one. There is no buried wire acting as a physical backstop, so any area that never gets a reliable fix is an area the machine will not cut.
OperationWhat is the maximum yard size the Stiga A 1500 covers, and how many charge cycles does a full lot require?
Stiga rates it at up to 2,500 m² (about 0.62 acre) across as many as 10 cutting zones. Runtime is 150 minutes per charge with a 120 minute recharge, so a full-size lot is covered over several sessions depending on grass density and the programmed pattern. Systematic mowing rather than a random pattern reduces total coverage time.
OwnershipIs the Stiga A 1500 available in North America, and what is the warranty coverage?
North American availability is very limited; distribution is primarily EU-based. North American customers may face import restrictions, warranty voids, and support gaps. Verify availability with regional Stiga distributors or authorized dealers before purchase.

Embed the Autonomy Ladder™ mark or copy the citation. The mark is served from this record rather than saved as a file, so it always shows the level we currently hold. If we reassess, it updates on your page by itself.

  • The mark must link to this record. An unlinked mark is not authorised.
  • No recolouring, cropping, rotating, restyling, or re-typesetting. Scale proportionally only, up to 2×: the seal to 536px wide, the standard to 224px.
  • Leave clear space equal to half the numeral tile on all sides: 32px on the seal, 22px on the standard.
  • The mark states a classification, not an endorsement. It may not appear beside language implying Robovations recommends, rates, or approves the product.
  • Hot-link the image from robovations.com. Do not download, self-host, proxy or re-upload it: a saved copy stops updating, and a mark that has stopped updating is a claim we no longer stand behind.
  • The mark is live. It reflects the classification on this record as it stands. If we reassess, it changes on your page automatically. If we withdraw the classification, it stops rendering. Nothing is required from you either way.
