Miele Scout RX3
A camera-mapped vacuum with an unusually low profile and Miele's two-stage AirClean Plus filtration, sold as a current three-variant line in the US. It never adds a mop or a self-empty base, and at Miele's asking price those two omissions are what the machine has to be judged against.

Camera-based SLAM navigation with obstacle sensors (no LiDAR turret)
Position shows where the figure sits across the tracked category, not a quality judgment.
Living with it.
Camera navigation performed adequately; Miele exited the category before a track record matured.
Owner reports from the 2022-2023 launch window describe generally accurate camera mapping with occasional obstacle-avoidance misses in low light. Miele's subsequent exit from the US robot vacuum market halted new firmware, leaving navigation stability questions unresolved.
$899 to buy, then about $30 a year for the replaceable parts below. Over three years that is roughly $90 past the sticker price. Excludes electricity and any repairs.

Replacement cadence from the maintenance schedule; prices shown where the source documents them.
NoteCharging dock cord routing: Standard trip-hazard advisory for any exposed dock power cord in walkways.
NoteNo auto-empty, more hands-on debris contact: Owners empty the bin manually more often than self-emptying competitors, increasing debris exposure.
