Common questions

What buyers actually ask.

6 answered
Operation
Does the Matic vacuum upload maps or camera data to the cloud?
No. Matic processes all visual navigation on-device. Camera feeds are not transmitted to cloud servers or manufacturer backends. Privacy architecture keeps data on the unit only.
Compatibility
Can you see the Matic's map in the app or set no-go zones?
No. Because mapping happens on-device only, the app has no map to display. Zone-based scheduling and no-go zones are not available. Manual perimeter setup via physical barriers is the only zoning option.
Ownership
How does direct-to-consumer sales affect warranty and support for the Matic?
Matic handles warranty claims and support directly via email and web portal. No big-box return window or retail support desk. Repairs typically require return shipping to the manufacturer.
Comparison
What is the Matic's suction power, and how does it compare to budget vacuums like the Roborock Q5?
Matic does not publish suction specifications in Pascals. Owner reports describe adequate performance on hard floors and light carpet; performance lags behind the Roborock Q5’s documented 2700 Pa on thick carpet.
Compatibility
Does the Matic work without WiFi, or is cloud connection required for basic operation?
The Matic can start manually on the unit. WiFi is required for app-based scheduling and remote start. No cloud mapping or data sync occurs regardless of WiFi status.
Operation
How long is the Matic's runtime, and can it clean a 2500 sqft home in one pass?
Runtime is not officially documented by Matic. Owner reports describe completion of single-floor homes 1500-2000 sqft in one session; larger homes may require repositioning or multiple passes.
