OperationCan the HUTT A1 handle frameless windows or glass railings?
Frameless glass is what the laser edge detection is built for. It maps the glass boundary and cleans up to the edge without crossing it, and the suction adjusts as the machine passes small gaps. Glass railings and other open edges are a different case, since there is no surface beyond the boundary at all, and HUTT does not document behavior on them.
OperationHow long is the power cord and can it reach a second-story window?
HUTT does not publish the cord length. The A1 works from mains power, so plan on an outlet within reach of the pane and confirm the actual length with the seller before buying for upper-story work.
OperationWhat happens if mains power is interrupted while the robot is on the glass?
An internal 650 mAh battery keeps the suction running so the machine stays attached. HUTT states 20 minutes of power-off protection on its product page; some retail listings claim up to 30. The robot also raises an audible and visual alarm so the operator knows to intervene. That hold time is fall protection, not runtime: the A1 cleans on mains power.
OperationWhat is the safety rope for, and how should it be anchored?
It is the backup if suction is lost for longer than the internal battery covers. HUTT rates the rope to 148 kg of pulling force, quoted as 145 kg in some listings. Secure it to a fixture indoors, or to something solid that cannot be dragged toward the opening; the rope is only as strong as what it is tied to, and the anchor itself carries no published rating. Inspect the rope before every run and stop using it if the weave is cut or frayed.
OperationDoes the spray system use heated water or cold water only?
Specification not published. Owner reports describe cold-water spray only; heated-water capability is not documented. Mineral-heavy tap water may require pre-filtering for hard-water areas.
OwnershipHow often do cleaning pads need replacement and what is the typical cost?
HUTT publishes no replacement interval and no pad price. The unit ships with 5 mm nanofiber cloths, which are washed and reused. Replace them on condition, when the weave is matted or torn, rather than on a calendar.
