Both use the same working architecture: twin rotating discs carrying damp cloths, held to the glass by a suction motor. The DDC55 is lower cost, states a suction range of 2000 to 3800 Pa, and is operated from a handheld remote rather than an app. Its cloths are wetted by hand before each run.
CompatibilityDoes the HUTT DDC55 connect to an app or a smart home platform?
No. HUTT’s manual for the DDC55 documents a handheld remote control and contains no network pairing procedure, no app and no smart home platform. HUTT’s own retail listing describes it as a window cleaner robot with remote control. The machine is also pressed onto the glass by hand before every run, so there is nothing for a schedule to start.
OperationWhat water should I use on the cleaning cloths?
The DDC55 has no water tank and no spray nozzle. HUTT’s instruction is to wet the cleaning cloth and wring it out until it does not drip before fitting it to the turning disc, and, if the machine is slipping, to fit a dry cloth dampened with two or three sprays of clean water. A 100 ml watering can is supplied for this.
OperationWhat happens if the power is interrupted while the robot is on the glass?
HUTT specifies a protection time of at least 20 minutes. On loss of mains power the internal battery keeps the suction motor running so the machine holds its position on the glass, with an audible and visual alarm, giving time to retrieve it. It does not park itself and it is not held to the window by mains power alone.
OperationWhat does HUTT require when cleaning the outside face of a window at height?
Two things. The safety rope’s locking ring must be fixed to a solid object that cannot be dragged, and before every run the rope must be checked as securely fastened to that object and free of damage. And when the machine is working the external side of a pane at height, a safety warning must be set on the ground beneath to prevent injury to anyone below.
