Robomow RC308 Pro X

Perimeter wire does the heavy lifting here: once installed, the RC308 runs scheduled sessions and returns to dock without intervention. Random-path coverage is the trade-off; systematic parallel rows require stepping up to a GPS-based platform.

Common questions

What people actually ask.

5 answered
OperationDoes the RC308 require burying the perimeter wire, or can it lie on the surface?
Robomow installation documentation (2017) allows surface installation with staples as well as shallow burial. Burial (typically 1-3 inches) provides better lawn-mower and foot-traffic protection; surface installation is faster but more vulnerable to accidental damage.
CompatibilityCan I use the Robomow app to control the RC308 Pro X from anywhere?
The RC308 Pro X connects to the Robomow app over Bluetooth for full control near the mower. There is no Wi-Fi option. The GSM module included on Pro variants adds one-way remote alerts such as stuck notifications and mowing history, but full remote control from outside Bluetooth range is not supported.
OperationWhat happens if the RC308 encounters rain mid-session?
A built-in rain sensor pauses operation and returns the mower to its docking station automatically. Owner reports (2017-2024) indicate the sensor responds reliably to moderate rainfall; light drizzle may not always trigger a return-to-dock.
OwnershipHow do I replace the RC308's blade, and how often is replacement needed?
The mulching disc blade is replaced as a unit; no individual blade removal is required. Manufacturer guidance recommends replacement at least once per season for standard use. Replacement blades are available through Robomow’s authorized retailer network.
OperationDoes the RC308 have anti-theft protection if someone tries to take it from the yard?
A PIN-coded anti-theft alarm activates when the mower is lifted without the correct PIN entered first. If the PIN is not entered, the alarm sounds and the mower stops operating. This is a standard feature across the RC series.
