Wifi Hifi's hands-on review found a half-inch floor transition made the m6 treat the kitchen as a drop-off and skip it entirely, so "I have to manually place the mop in the kitchen whenever I want to clean there", and the result was "not as sufficient as I'd hoped; I get a much deeper clean mopping by hand" until deep-clean mode was selected. A human routinely places it and finishes the job.

Systematic and retained, but a fixed layout obstacle forces a permanent manual reset rather than an occasional one.

OperationCan the Braava Jet m6 mop and vacuum at the same time, or must it vacuum first?

Braava is mop-only; it cannot vacuum. If paired with a Roomba via Imprint Link, the Roomba vacuums first, then the Braava mops on a schedule you set. Unpaired, the m6 still runs its own Smart Map and cleans the rooms you select; it just will not start itself when a vacuum finishes.

OperationWhat is the difference between the m6 and other Braava models?

The m6 was the first Braava to use vSLAM mapping, which is what gives it Imprint Smart Mapping and, separately, Imprint Link sequencing with a Roomba. Earlier Braava models used random-path coverage. Later models (m6-compatible jet-based variants) share the same mop architecture.

OperationDoes the Braava Jet m6 work on carpet at all?

No, and it is built not to try. The m6 is a hard-floor machine, and it carries carpet and threshold detection intended to keep it off carpeted areas rather than spraying them. Keep Out Zones are available in the app for rugs or thresholds you want it to avoid outright.

iRobot recommends replacing pads every 1-2 weeks depending on floor size and soil. Owner reports on lightly-used homes report monthly pad changes sufficient. Single pads cost ~$10-15 per set of 3.

Yes. The tank is filled with tap water, and iRobot positions Braava jet Hard Floor Cleaning Solution as an optional addition for scent rather than a requirement for the machine to mop. Dry sweeping mode dispenses nothing at all; the dry pads work electrostatically and the tank goes unused.
