Dreame L40 Ultra
The side-extend mop arm reaches edges that fixed pads miss, and the station carries the rest: it empties the robot into a 3.2 L bag, refills its water and cleaning solution, and washes and dries the pads. Obstacle avoidance pairs LiDAR mapping with 3D structured light and an RGB camera that has its own front light, so it still classifies objects in an unlit room. The mop extension is the differentiator; suction sits at 11,000 Pa.

Will the Dreame L40 Ultra work in your home?
Describe your home using the controls. Each choice reads the spec sheet for you, flagging where the Dreame L40 Ultra is built for your space and where it isn’t.
A classification of fit for the conditions you set, not a recommendation. Verdicts describe engineering design intent, not test results.

Position shows where the figure sits across the tracked category, not a quality judgment. Suction in Pascals has no standard test method, and the published figure is a peak-mode claim, so it is comparable only within a brand and generation.
Living with it.
Twelve months of field data show consistent LiDAR navigation and dock drying reliability; side-extend arm durability still accumulating evidence.
Owner reports document steady performance since mid-2024 launch. LiDAR mapping improved through firmware updates. Dock hot-air cycle stable; no significant water leakage reported. Side-extend mop arm mechanical durability developing; servo mechanism shows no documented failures in first 12 months.
$1,499 to buy, then about $130 a year for the replaceable parts below. Over three years that is roughly $390 past the sticker price. Excludes electricity and any repairs.

Replacement cadence from the maintenance schedule; prices shown where the source documents them.
CautionHot-water mop heating and extended arm: Dock heats water to 45-50C for mop wash. Touching mop pads immediately after heating can cause minor burns. Side-extend arm has pinch points during retraction.
NoteManual water tank refill requirement: Owner must refill tank before scheduled runs. Forgetting refills results in dry-mop operation or run cancellation. App notifications help but are not foolproof.

- The mark must link to this record. An unlinked mark is not authorised.
- No recolouring, cropping, rotating, restyling, or re-typesetting. Scale proportionally only, up to 2×: the seal to 536px wide, the standard to 224px.

- The mark states a classification, not an endorsement. It may not appear beside language implying Robovations recommends, rates, or approves the product.
