OperationWhat makes the 160°C steam mop different from heated-pad designs like the Roborock S8?
A roller carries heat across its full contact width and turns against the floor; a pad presses one fixed cloth face down and holds what it lifts until the dock washes it. Dreame’s announcement for this machine covers 160°C steam, 75°C hot-water mopping, a heated roller and 18 N of downward pressure. Dreame has published no figure for how much faster heat releases dried soil, and no independent testing of the claim exists.
OperationDoes the dock mop wash at 100°C actually sanitize, or is that marketing?
100°C kills most bacteria and mold, per published thermal-sanitization research. Dreame’s dock auto-wash runs at 100°C with hot-air dry cycles. Independent testing post-shipment will clarify real-world effectiveness against corner algae and biofilm; current evidence is manufacturer claims only.
OperationWill the Aqua 20 work on multi-floor homes with different surfaces?
Yes, if layouts are hard-floor dominant. LiDAR mapping and persistent floor memory support inter-floor transitions. The design limits mop zones to hard floors by default. Owners with stairs separating carpet and tile can map no-wet zones manually.
ComparisonHow does the Aqua 20 compare to pre-release competitors like the Roborock Saros Rover?
Both were shown for 2026 and neither has shipped, but they are not two takes on one idea. The Saros Rover is a wheel-leg machine that balances on two legs, steps over 10 cm barriers and climbs stairs; the Aqua 20 keeps a conventional chassis and puts its novelty in a heated cleaning roller. No wheel-leg robot has reached consumers from any maker, and Roborock has not confirmed a release date for the Rover.
OperationHas Dreame announced a price or release date for the Aqua 20 Pro Ultra Roller?
Not yet. The hardware has been detailed but no MSRP and no ship date have been published. Dreame’s recent flagships have launched across a wide band, from about $1,099 for the X20 Pro upward, so the announced feature set does not narrow the range. This record will carry a figure when Dreame states one.
