No. Yarbo states module changes are tool-free and take under two minutes, but the owner makes them. The robot operates each mode autonomously once the module is installed.
OperationWhat positioning does the S1 use? Does it need a separate RTK base station?
Dual-antenna RTK-GNSS is standard, rated at plus or minus 2 cm. The reference station Yarbo calls the Data Center ships in the box alongside the Core, the module, the docking station, battery, controller, and tow hitch. There is no non-RTK configuration and no separate purchase.
OperationHow much snow can the Yarbo S1 clear in a single pass?
The S1 is a two-stage snow blower with a 24 in (61 cm) clearing width and a 12 in (30.5 cm) intake height, discharging 6 to 40 feet on an adjustable chute. Owner reports describe reduced performance in wet or compacted snow; Yarbo publishes no wet-snow rating.
OperationWhat lot size is the S1 designed for?
Manufacturer documentation indicates coverage up to approximately 0.75 acres per charge for mowing. Snow clearing coverage per charge is typically lower due to motor load.
OperationIs perimeter wire required?
No. The S1 uses RTK-GNSS virtual boundaries defined in the companion app. That removes the wire-laying step on established properties, though positioning quality still varies in wooded or obstructed yards.
OperationDoes the Yarbo S1 detect pets and children?
The Core carries an obstacle-detection stack. Yarbo describes it as binocular camera plus ultrasonic radar plus bumper; retailer spec sheets enumerate three cameras and seven ultrasonic radars with AI obstacle detection. Detection is a mitigation rather than a guard: the mower deck carries rotary blades and the S1 an auger intake, so clear the work zone of people and pets before a scheduled run.
OperationWhat happens in sub-freezing temperatures?
Owner reports document reduced battery runtime below 20°F, with reduced motor responsiveness in heavy wet snow. The S1 module is the primary cold-weather use case; Yarbo recommends storing above freezing when not in active operation.
