Husqvarna Automower 312V

Satellite positioning and an AI camera over 1,200 m², with a cut and build T3 rated highly. The weak link in T3's test was software: configuring the app took repeated trips to the manual, and it needs strong Wi-Fi and open sky across the lawn.

OWNERSHIP

Living with it.

Strong hardware held back by setup software.

T3 found the hardware excellent and the cut versatile, but ran into app map and settings problems during configuration, and describes its test as early days.

Safety notes

CautionNo obstacle avoidance after dark: Husqvarna says 300 series vision works only in daylight, so night mowing runs without camera avoidance.

NoteStop button, PIN and GeoFence alarm: T3 notes a large orange Stop button; Husqvarna lists a PIN, GeoFence, alarm, lift and tilt sensors.

Common questions

What people actually ask.

5 answered
OperationIs the Automower 312V hard to set up?
T3 found it tricky: the app map was blank then out of date, several settings caused problems, and Husqvarna offers a setup service.
OperationDoes the 312V work under trees?
It needs a clear view of the sky. T3 warns heavy tree coverage can break its satellite connection and cause it to malfunction.
OperationDoes the 312V avoid obstacles at night?
No. Husqvarna says 300 series vision operates only in daylight, so object avoidance and EPOS support do not work when dark.
OperationHow does the 312V differ from the 308V?
Husqvarna’s spec tables list the same body, battery and cut; the 312V is rated for 1,200 m² against 800 m² and costs £1,499 against £1,249.
CompatibilityCan the cutting height be changed from the app?
No. T3 notes a panel on top lifts to change the cut height by hand, and Husqvarna lists manual adjustment from 20 to 50 mm.
