Unitree provides Python SDK and ROS integration. Owner reports and documentation show basic task scripting requires Linux familiarity and ROS understanding. Firmware customization demands C++ expertise.

Unitree specifies 2 to 3 hours of continuous operation depending on motion intensity and load. Robovations has not collected owner deployment reports for this machine, so real-world runtime under sustained work is unverified.
OperationHow does G1 handle unexpected obstacles?
G1 stops or follows pre-programmed fallback behaviors. It does not plan alternative routes or identify hazards independently. Operator must reassess the environment and modify the task sequence.
OperationCan G1 operate outdoors?
G1 functions on level or gently inclined outdoor surfaces in dry conditions. Manufacturer documentation indicates rain protection is not standard, and sandy terrain can compromise foot grip and stability.

G1 ships with a Livox MID-360 3D LiDAR, an Intel RealSense D435 depth camera, a four-microphone array with noise and echo cancellation, a 5 W stereo speaker, an IMU and joint encoders. These are standard equipment, not optional modules. That stack is the hardware for real-time obstacle detection and close-range manipulation. How far the stock software takes it toward autonomous task execution is a separate question from what the sensors can see, and it is not verified here.
