Neato Botvac D4
Offered LiDAR navigation at a lower entry point than the D7. Discontinuation removed scheduling and zone control. Navigation capability survives offline, but app integration is gone.

Position shows where the figure sits across the tracked category, not a quality judgment. Suction in Pascals has no standard test method, and the published figure is a peak-mode claim, so it is comparable only within a brand and generation.
Living with it.
LiDAR and drive mechanics proved stable through 2018-2023; discontinuation ended all support.
Owner reports showed reliable LiDAR mapping and navigation, occasional side-brush wear, and typical filter-clogging patterns. No major firmware crises documented before the company ceased operations.
$499 to buy, then about $60 a year for the replaceable parts below. Over three years that is roughly $180 past the sticker price. Excludes electricity and any repairs.
