CompatibilityDoes the Neato D4 work without the app after the company shut down?
The robot can navigate using its LiDAR sensor and clean in patterns without the app. However, it cannot be scheduled remotely, controlled from a smartphone, or use virtual boundaries, all features that required Neato’s cloud service, which was taken offline in 2025.
OperationWhat happens if I buy a used Neato D4 today?
The vacuum will clean if charged and started manually from the power button. App integration has been offline since the 2025 cloud shutdown and is not coming back. You lose scheduling, no-go zones, and remote commands, leaving only basic local operation.
ComparisonHow does the D4 compare to the D7?
Both use the same LiDAR navigation and D-shaped body. Neato never published a Pascal suction rating for any Botvac, so there is no documented suction figure to compare between them. The D4’s 0.7 L dustbin is the same class as the D7’s. The differences Neato documented are the side brush, the filter grade, and the accessory bundle. Both models are discontinued, and both lost cloud service in 2025.
