Do Robot Vacuum App and Parts Promises Hold Up? Two eufy models against two discontinued vacuums

This is an old-against-new page, not a shopping choice. It checks what two eufy models and two discontinued vacuums still get from their makers for the app and for parts today.

In a living room, three robot vacuums are out on a scheduled run, two of them just away from their docks, while a fourth, D-shaped robot waits on its charging base by the right-hand wall; a phone lies on a floor cushion.

In a utility room, a slim black robot vacuum lies upside down on a towel with its battery bay open; the worn battery and the bay cover lie beside it, and a new battery has come out of an open parts box that also holds dust bags, side brushes and a filter.

The record

What was promised, and what is there today

Neato's cloud ended in Oct 2025, so the D4 now runs only by its button, after a reported five-year promise. The two eufy models have maker parts listings, including a battery. The S5 Max still appears in Roborock's app help, but Roborock's parts pages show shared S5 listings and no S5 Max battery.

Questions

What readers ask

Is the Neato Botvac D4's cloud gone for good?

Neato’s support announcement of 6 Oct 2025 says its cloud services are being phased out. The robot still runs by its button, which starts one full house run. Remote start and schedules are gone.

Can the Roborock S5 Max still use its app?

Roborock’s help center still lists the S5 Max among models with app features such as multi-floor maps and schedules. No end-of-support notice for it was found. It was not tested on a robot.

Do the eufy models need a paid plan for the app?

The eufy record shows none. The eufy Clean app’s store listings showed no in-app purchases when checked on 28 Sep 2026. Paid cloud plans sit in a separate eufy camera app.
