MOVA V70 Ultra Complete

Name: MOVA V70 Ultra Complete
Brand: MOVA

The mop pad does not stop at the robot's edge: it swings out up to 17 cm to reach under cabinets and around chair legs. Retractable legs step it over a two-stage 9 cm obstacle.

Autonomy Ladder

Why Level III.

One five-rung scale, every category, from acting only on command to working unsupervised anywhere.

VGeneralized AutonomyAny task, any setting. No consumer robot has reached it.
IVEnvironmental AutonomyCopes with everyday clutter and frees itself, shown by independent testing.
To reach Level IVIndependent testing shows it avoids ordinary obstacles before contact, copes without the space being cleared, and frees itself when stuck.
IIIConditional AutonomyThis robot

MOVA V70 Ultra Complete finishes whole jobs in a space it already knows, and still needs a person at the edges.

Navigation and control

Retractable DToF laser sensor with AI recognition of 300+ obstacle types
Why this level
- A retractable DToF laser sensor and recognition of more than 300 obstacle types map rooms and route around objects, and two independent reviews ran scheduled vacuum-and-mop cleans dock to dock without intervention.
- Gear Diary found obstacle avoidance excellent.
- That is Level III, Conditional Autonomy.
Autonomy dimension 76 / 100 · 12 sources reviewed
IIAssisted AutonomyRuns preset routines; stalls at anything new.
IManual AutomationOne action on command; no independent operation.

Human Readiness

Ready Now.

One question: what does buying this robot today walk you into? The state is computed from the record, and recomputed daily.

Ready NowThis robot

MOVA V70 Ultra Complete is on sale, assessed, and nothing on its record argues for waiting.
How this was derived
- Shipping past the first-90-day ownership window with a published assessment, no documented issues on record, and no announced successor.
Notes on the record
- The release date recorded is 12 May 2026, the European launch Basic Tutorials reports; MOVA said European sales would start that month.
- It is now in stock in the US at $1,299 through MOVA, Amazon and Best Buy.
On the record
- Shipping since May 2026 · 5 months on the market
- Retail listings on file: Amazon
- No successor announced
- 12 sources reviewed
What would move it
A documented problem, an announced successor, or a withdrawn listing moves it out; the rating recomputes daily.
New to MarketOn sale under 90 days; the ownership record is still forming.
WaitA successor is announced and has not shipped; re-read the decision when it arrives.
Known IssuesDocumented problems stand on the record; read the case before buying.

How this number was reached

75of 100

StrongAt or above 85% of the 450 robots we scoreand 78% of the 224 scored robot vacuums

DeficientLimitedCapableStrongExemplary

Measured on 7 of the 9 inputs24% not counted

Our assessment did not establish an independent source for edge-case recovery, software stability on this machine, so those inputs are left out of the score rather than guessed at, and the rest re-weighted to fill the space. A gap in what we have been able to verify is not evidence against the robot. Where a whole pillar has nothing measured, we publish no number at all.

Capability40% of the score80What it does without you.

Task completion16% of the score82

Evidence

Robot vacuums: Gear Diary found it cleaned well dry and wet, with the dock handling emptying, washing and drying and water tanks lasting at least three mopping sessions; Basic Tutorials found fine grit and joint residue sometimes needed a second pass.

Coverage and navigation10% of the score78

Evidence

Robot vacuums: Basic Tutorials found rooms mapped clearly, and Gear Diary saw the extending arms reach back into areas around furniture legs after avoiding them.

Edge-case recoverynot countedno source verified55

Evidence

Robot vacuums: neither Gear Diary nor Basic Tutorials reports the robot getting stuck or describes how it recovers; Basic Tutorials noted one attempt to climb a desk base.

Operating envelope4% of the score75

Evidence

Robot vacuums: both reviewers covered hard floors, carpet and thresholds; Gear Diary confirmed a 3.5 in climb and carpet mop lift, while Basic Tutorials found obstacle detection mostly but not always reliable.

Dependability40% of the score66Whether it keeps doing it.

Field failure rate16% of the score70

Evidence

Under twelve months of field record: on sale in Europe since May 2026, so the input sits at its 70 cap. Two independent hands-on reviews report no hardware failure.

Software stabilitynot countedno source verified65

Evidence

No independent report of firmware update behavior on this model was found four months after its European launch.

Support longevity10% of the score60

Evidence

Scored as commitments: MOVA publishes a limited warranty policy and sells the model through its own US store. No multi-year update commitment is published.

Ownership burden20% of the score81What it asks of you.

Routine maintenance12% of the score86

Evidence

Per Gear Diary, the dock empties debris bagless, washes pads at 212°F and dries them for an hour, doses two cleaning solutions, and its 4 L clean and 3.5 L dirty tanks lasted at least three mopping sessions per fill.

Consumables8% of the score74

Evidence

No dust bags; parts are the reusable dust container's filter, mop pads, main and side brushes and cleaning solution, with six spare pads in the box per Gear Diary (priced by the consumables engine).

middle half of the databaseits medianthis robot

Reported, not scoredneither measures how well the robot works

Five-year costNot costed

US list price $1,299 with no subscription and no dust bags to buy; MOVA does not publish filter and pad replacement intervals, so a five-year figure is not stated.

Data postureCloud-linked

Account required. Maps and telemetry leave the home; core function survives an outage.

What leaves the homeDocumented

The robot recognizes more than 300 obstacle types and the MOVA app offers remote camera viewing, per a hands-on review, so camera imagery can leave the home when that feature is used. MOVA has not published which data is processed on the robot versus in its cloud.
