Trifo Lucy

Dual-LiDAR compact positioned for smaller homes and cluttered layouts. Cliff detection is robust; edge-cleaning works as advertised. Turbo mode trades suction for noise reduction, a genuine trade-off for apartment dwellers.

OWNERSHIP

Living with it.

Consistent 18-month field record with rare stair incidents and predictable consumable wear; cliff detection generally reliable.

Firmware 3.2 reduced stair tumble incidence by 40 percent. No documented recalls or field failures through May 2026. Occasional dust-induced LiDAR dropout resolved by lens cleaning.

Safety notes

CautionStair detection gaps in low light: Cliff detection less effective in basement or very dark environments; supervision recommended on first runs.

CautionPet interaction hazard: No pet avoidance system; small pets could be struck. Supervision or isolation during runs recommended.

NoteDock thermal risk in cramped spaces: Robot can overheat during charging if dock lacks adequate clearance; 30cm minimum recommended on three sides.

Common questions

What people actually ask.

6 answered
ComparisonHow does Lucy compare to the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra?
Roborock flagship is nearly twice the price and designed for whole homes; Lucy targets sub-1500 sq ft layouts. Roborock’s self-emptying dock and higher suction power justify the cost for larger homes. Lucy wins on noise and navigation in tight spaces, loses on runtime and maintenance automation.
OperationCan Lucy clean multiple floors automatically?
No. Lucy maps each floor separately and requires manual floor selection before each run. It detects stairs to avoid tumbling, but cross-floor cleaning demands human initiation.
OwnershipWhat is the warranty coverage?
Trifo offers 2 years on defects and 1 year on consumables (brush, filter, wheels). Accidental damage coverage is not included in standard warranty.
CompatibilityDoes Lucy work with voice assistants?
Yes. Alexa and Google Home integration available via WiFi. No Matter support announced.
OwnershipHow often does the filter need replacement?
Manufacturer recommends monthly replacement for pet homes, every 2-3 months for standard use. Filter cost is approximately $25 per unit.
OperationWhat happens if Lucy gets stuck under furniture?
Recovery mode activates after 30 seconds of stalling, reversing and rotating 180 degrees to escape. If blockage persists, app sends alert requesting manual intervention.
