Homes and Gardens' hands-on test found that a clump of cereal 'caused the vacuum to clog right away, and prompted an error' and that the spill was 'mostly eventually cleaned up, but it wasn't pretty, and I had to come back through with another vacuum.' NBC News Select's owner, running it since 2021, says it 'adequately cleans all types of floors, in my experience, including hardwood, tile and area rugs' and self-empties into a base that holds weeks of debris, so a human closes the loop occasionally rather than routinely.
