Manufacturer announcements and press coverage document pilots at BYD (logistics), Foxconn (inspection), and Zeekr (parts handling). UBTECH reports early positive feedback on throughput; specific production metrics remain proprietary.
OperationWhat does BrainNet (the swarm-coordination software) do?
BrainNet is UBTECH’s multi-robot orchestration layer. It assigns parallel tasks to multiple Walker S1 units and optimizes handoff points based on real-time factory floor status. Centralized planning reduces idle time and collision risk.
OperationCan the Walker S1 operate fully autonomously, or does it require an operator?
Hybrid model. Scripted routes and pickup logic run autonomously; task transitions (loading, unloading, obstacle avoidance in dynamic environments) use ROSA 2 control and BrainNet coordination by an on-site operator or automated logic trigger.
OperationHow does the Walker S1 differ from the earlier Walker series?
The Walker line has been bipedal from the start: Walker debuted in 2018 and Walker X in 2021, both full humanoids with dexterous arms, demonstrated walking, balancing and manipulating for years before the S1. The S1 was also not the first Walker in industry; the Walker S entered automotive plants ahead of it. What the S1 carries is 41 servo-driven joints, 7 degrees of freedom per arm and 11 per hand, in a platform aimed at factory logistics.
OwnershipWhat is the typical deployment cost for a small pilot (3-5 units)?
UBTECH does not publish pricing for the Walker S1, and no public figure covers hardware, integration and training for a multi-unit pilot. Recurring costs include technician labor and consumable maintenance, neither of which UBTECH prices publicly. Any budget figure has to come from a quotation.
