Deep Robotics caps stair and slope climbing at 45 degrees, and the robot climbs and descends on its own perception rather than under operator control. Behavior on wet, algae-covered or otherwise fouled treads is not covered by the manufacturer’s figure, and no independent testing of it is published.
OperationHow does the IP67 rating hold up to substation water spray and wet tunnel environments?
Deep Robotics certifies the X30 to IP67 and states an operating range of -20 to 55 C, which covers substation spray, dust and washdown. Long-term durability in continuous high-humidity service is not covered by Deep Robotics material or by any published field reporting, so treat multi-month tunnel deployment as unverified rather than either proven or ruled out.
OperationWhat camera payloads are compatible, and how much does multispectral gear affect speed?
Deep Robotics documents RGB, thermal and infrared imaging, a depth camera and LiDAR on the X30, plus a modular mount for third-party sensors. No payload compatibility matrix, per-payload mass allowance or published effect on climbing speed appears in Deep Robotics material or in reseller listings, so qualifying a payload is a question for the manufacturer or the integrator supplying the robot.
OperationHow long can the X30 operate before returning for battery service?
Deep Robotics publishes 2.5 to 4 hours of endurance and a patrol range of 10 km or more, and states a 25 percent endurance gain over the previous generation. Battery packs are quick-swap and come out without tools for back-to-back shifts, and the X30 Pro Dock recharges the robot without handling. Endurance broken out by gait, payload or climb percentage is not published.
