The Atlas is a mechanical cleaner, and that is the point of it: no battery, no cord, no electronics, and no separate power draw, because the pool pump does the work. Fluidra positions it directly where the MX8 Elite sat, and brushes from the MX6 and MX8 generations fit it. Against a robot it is cheaper to run and far less capable, with no ability to know where it has been.

Upkeep routine

Replace the scrubbing brushes each season or when wear is visible (R0953300 4-pack, about $20-24 at pool parts retailers); check the drive tracks for worn interior teeth at the same time.

Winterize by draining all water and laying the disassembled hoses flat; freeze damage is not covered by warranty. Store out of direct sun and never coil the hose.

Empty the pump basket; the Atlas sends everything it lifts to the pump, and the heavier the debris load, the sooner the basket needs clearing.

Disconnect the cleaner before cleaning or backwashing the pool filter, then run the filtration system for five minutes before reconnecting it.

Press the top latch and clear debris from the engine; the turbine assembly lifts out by hand, no tools required.

Remove the cleaner from the pool for at least four hours whenever chemicals are added.

Not in the sense the rest of this database uses. It is a mechanical suction-side cleaner driven by the pool pump, with no electronics, sensing, or route planning.

The Zodiac MX8 Elite. Fluidra moved the suction-side line to the Polaris name, and MX6 and MX8 brushes are listed as compatible with Atlas and Atlas XT.
