The Atlas is a mechanical cleaner, and that is the point of it: no battery, no cord, no electronics, and no separate power draw, because the pool pump does the work. Fluidra positions it directly where the MX8 Elite sat, and brushes from the MX6 and MX8 generations fit it. Against a robot it is cheaper to run and far less capable, with no ability to know where it has been.

OperationIs the Polaris Atlas a robot?

Not in the sense the rest of this database uses. It is a mechanical suction-side cleaner driven by the pool pump, with no electronics, sensing, or route planning.

OperationWhat did the Atlas replace?

The Zodiac MX8 Elite. Fluidra moved the suction-side line to the Polaris name, and MX6 and MX8 brushes are listed as compatible with Atlas and Atlas XT.

OperationDoes it need its own power supply?

No. It draws its drive energy from the pool’s filtration pump through a 39 ft hose on the skimmer or a 1.5 in vacuum line.
