Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus

The fine-porosity cartridges that capture silt and sand are the same porosity that loads quickly. In an algae bloom they can fill inside a single cycle, so the after-every-use rinse is what keeps pickup from falling off.

Cord-based operation eliminates wireless convenience but removes dependency on app uptime and cloud connectivity.

Wybot C2

No camera, no mapping: seven preset modes replace a perception system, so coverage quality tracks the mode the owner selects, not the robot’s own judgment.

The added 10-micron filter stage catches finer sediment than a single-basket cleaner, but a three-hour charge against a three-hour runtime still caps use at one cycle per half day.

At 17.6 lb wet, the machine that documents step and slope coverage is also the one an owner has to physically lift out every time.

Skipping the AI camera keeps the price roughly $200 below the C2 Vision, and gives up debris-adaptive path planning to do it.

Above-ground or inflatable pools
Weight and wall-climbing design do not fit above-ground sidewalls. Suction-based robots are standard for inflatable pools.
Pools with irregular stone or tile edges
Navigation scans the pool rather than building a map, so covering a heavily irregular shape depends on cycle length rather than a planned route, and crevices along a rough stone edge can be left.
Owners wanting a cleaner they never handle
Maytronics instructs owners to rinse the filter after every use, and the unit is lifted in and out of the pool by hand each cycle. There is no self-emptying base.
Wybot C2
Pools larger than the 2,152 sq ft rated coverage
Wybot rates the C2 by area, up to 2,152 sq ft, and the machine has no mapping to compensate; larger or irregular pools risk incomplete coverage.
Owners who want the machine to sense and adapt to debris
The plain C2 carries no camera at all; adaptive debris detection and selective zone avoidance are reserved for the C2 Vision, priced roughly $200 higher.
Owners who need back-to-back cleaning cycles without downtime
A roughly three-hour charge against up to three hours of runtime in Eco mode means only one full cleaning cycle fits comfortably in a half day.

At 17.6 lb, the C2 is a real lift once it is full of water and pulled from the pool after every cycle, with no self-emptying dock.

  • After every use: Lift the unit out, open the top-load basket, and rinse the filter cartridges with a hose; Maytronics instructs this after each cycle, and the quick water release is built for it.
  • After every use: Unwind the 60 ft floating cable and coil it loosely so the next run starts tangle-free.
  • Weekly: Check the cable for cuts, kinks, or abrasion.
  • Every 3-6 months: Replace the filter cartridges as the mesh degrades (~$28-35 per cartridge).
  • Annually: Replace the two rotating scrubbing brushes as the bristles wear down (roughly $45 per set).
  • Seasonally: Inspect the drive tracks for wear, then store the unit and its power supply indoors, out of freezing conditions, when the pool is closed.
Wybot C2
  • After every use: Rinse the 180-micron filter basket and the 10-micron ultra-fine filter cotton with a hose before debris dries in place.
  • After every use: Recharge the battery; Wybot rates a full charge at about 3 hours. Keep the charging port dry and clean before connecting.
  • As needed: Replace the C2 filter cotton when rinsing no longer restores water flow ($12.99-19.99 direct from Wybot); no replacement interval is published.
  • As needed: Check the tires and drive belts for trapped hair or grit; both are sold as replacement parts on Wybot’s store.
