What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
Wire-free setup comes with a second piece of hardware to site and keep connected: the RTK station and its Wi-Fi or 4G correction link are what replace the buried perimeter.
The sweeping deck makes one machine do two jobs, and cuts the rated gradient from 28 degrees to about 10 while it is fitted.
No wire and no map trades installation effort for a daylight window: the camera that removes the ground work is also what keeps the mower parked after dark. An optional LED headlight accessory extends the window.
Boundary precision is adequate for typical residential lawns; owners who want cut-to-the-edge performance against walls and flower beds will need to supplement with manual edging.
Who each one is wrong for
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
- Lawns above the rated area
- Mammotion rates the YUKA 2000 at 2,000 m2, about 0.49 acre, reaching roughly 0.7 acre under good reception, at a mowing rate of 350 m2 per hour.
- Sweeping on sloped ground
- The sweeping deck drops the rated gradient to 18 percent, about 10 degrees, from 28 degrees without it. A bank that the mower handles bare is outside the rating once the sweeper is on.
- Ground steeper than the machine rating
- Mammotion rates the YUKA 2000 at 28 degrees, published also as a 45 percent gradient, with no sweeper fitted. Steeper banks are outside the envelope. With the sweeping deck fitted the rating falls to 18 percent, about 10 degrees.
- Properties where the RTK station cannot be sited
- The station needs a mounting position and a correction link over home Wi-Fi or 4G. Without somewhere to put it, the positioning the machine depends on is not available.
- Owners who want no cloud account
- Mapping, zone editing and scheduling run through the Mammotion app against an account, and the RTK correction link is a network service.
- Owners who need mowing outside daylight hours
- The mower does not run in the dark. Households that want overnight mowing, to keep the machine out of the way during the day, need the optional LED headlight accessory.
- Lawns that run continuously into adjacent ground
- With no stored boundary, the mower turns where grass stops. Where lawn continues into a neighboring plot, a grass-seeded verge or unfenced field, a physical edge has to be provided.
- Plots requiring precise edge trimming along hard borders
- Vision-guided cutting stops short of physical edges. Owners expecting lawn-edge precision comparable to wire-guided systems report a consistent uncut border strip.
- Complex gardens with narrow passages under 60cm
- Manufacturer guidance and owner reports confirm the mower does not reliably navigate passages narrower than approximately 60cm. Disconnected lawn sections require separate zone configurations.
- Owners who need all-weather autonomous operation
- Rain sensing pauses operation and the mower does not run after dark. Owners expecting seven-day unattended coverage through variable weather will find scheduling gaps.
- Large plots above 1,600 square meters
- Coverage area is a hard limit by model specification. Beyond this boundary the mowing duration and battery cycle count become impractical regardless of zone segmentation.
What stays your job
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
- Weekly: Inspect the blades for grass wrap and damage; clean the camera windows with a soft cloth.
- Monthly: Check the blade edges and the disc mounting bolts. Blades are stamped consumables sold in sets and are replaced rather than sharpened; grinding an edge removes the coating and weakens a blade running unattended.
- Every 3 months: Inspect the dock contacts and clear debris from the charging plate.
- Winter: Store the machine and its pack indoors above freezing, with charge in the battery. Do not run the pack down before storage; a lithium cell left near empty for months can self-discharge past its protection floor and not come back. Top it up during the layup, and re-check the map at the start of the season.
- As needed: Swap the sweeping deck, allowing a few minutes per change, and reset the working slope limit to 18 percent while it is on.
- Every 1-3 months: Replace cutting blades; Worx recommends more frequent changes on larger or denser lawns. Blades are replaced rather than sharpened. Blade kits cost approximately 10-15 USD.
- Monthly: Clean camera lens with dry microfiber cloth to prevent vision obstruction from grass clippings, dust, and moisture.
- Monthly: Clear debris from chassis underside and cutting deck around blade housing.
- Every 3-6 months: Inspect and clean charging station contacts; remove grass buildup from docking ramp.
- Seasonally: Full unit inspection before first use of growing season; check wheel traction surfaces for wear.
- Annually: Battery capacity check; Worx recommends replacement after 3-5 seasons depending on charge cycles.
