Flymo (Husqvarna Group)

Greenworks
Up to three
All robot lawn mowers. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Flymo EasiLife 200 | Greenworks Optimow 15 |
|---|---|---|
| Yard size | ||
| Under ¼ acre | GoodDesigned for sub-quarter-acre properties; one charge covers typical European residential lots. | GoodWell within the 0.37-acre coverage limit; capable, though a smaller-class mower may serve this lot equally well. |
| ¼ – ½ acrethey differ | DependsQuarter- to half-acre properties exceed standard coverage; requires multiple charge cycles and repositioning. | GoodSits within the documented 1,500 m² (0.37-acre) ceiling; the Optimow 15 is rated for this size range. |
| Over ½ acre | PoorOver-half-acre properties exceed design specification; coverage and battery runtime insufficient. | PoorCoverage limit is 1,500 m² (0.37 acres); yards over half an acre exceed the documented operating limit. |
| Terrain | ||
| Mostly flat | GoodWire guidance on flat terrain provides reliable coverage and docking performance. | GoodFlat terrain is fully within operating envelope; no gradient concerns apply. |
| Gentle slopesthey differ | DependsSlopes up to 10 percent manageable but cause uneven cutting and slower progress; traction loss on wet grass. | GoodRated for up to 35% gradient; moderate slopes are comfortably within documented operating limits. |
| Steep / hillythey differ | PoorWire-only guidance cannot navigate slopes above 10 degrees; traction failure and coverage loss documented. | DependsGreenworks specs the Optimow 15 at 35% maximum; sections near that limit warrant extra caution when grass is wet. |
| Grass type | ||
| Typical lawn grass | GoodStandard UK/EU grass species cut reliably with scheduled blade maintenance. | GoodRandomized mulching-cut pattern designed for standard-height turfgrass on a regular mowing schedule. |
| Mixed / tall growth | DependsTall grass clogs blades faster and strains motor; more frequent blade changes required. | DependsOvergrown grass above the blade design height may need a manual pre-cut before returning to regular automated sessions. |
| Thick (Bermuda / Zoysia) | DependsDense turf causes motor strain and faster blade dulling; weekly cleaning and frequent maintenance needed. | DependsDense thick-blade turf can slow progress; frequent short-duration passes are the documented mitigation for this grass type. |
| Boundary setup | ||
| Wireless required | PoorThe EasiLife 200 uses only physical boundary wire; virtual or wireless boundaries not supported. | PoorThe Optimow 15 requires physical perimeter wire; no wireless or GPS boundary option is available on this model. |
| Wire required | GoodWire-guided system requires buried or surface-mounted perimeter boundary. | Good200 m of perimeter wire is included; the entire operating boundary is wire-defined, matching this setup. |
| No preference | GoodAny property with wire perimeter infrastructure supports the robot. | GoodThis model is wire-only; factor in the one-time perimeter installation before committing to this setup. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Price.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
Bluetooth rather than Wi-Fi: the Flymo EasiLife app gives full control and scheduling, but only within range of the mower, so there is no status check or remote start from off the property.
LawnSense sets the cadence, not the calendar: cutting frequency adapts to actual grass growth rather than running a fixed program, and FrostSense suspends mowing in frost. That cuts unnecessary runs, and it means the mower’s working days vary week to week.
Wire installation is the price of entry: the Optimow 15 delivers genuine unsupervised mowing, but only after the owner commits several hours to perimeter-wire layout and staking.
Randomized cutting works, but systematic GPS-based mowing completes large areas faster and with more predictable pass distribution; the Optimow 15 trades path efficiency for a lower price tier.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
