What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
Mopping adds capability but requires weekly mop-pad maintenance; one feature trades hands-off claims for consumable churn.
IntelliView pairs LiDAR with an RGB camera, an LED lamp and a line laser to recognize objects, so the obstacle avoidance runs on a camera operating inside the home. The recognition that keeps the robot off cables and pet waste is the same hardware a privacy-sensitive household has to accept.
Suction at 4,200 Pa reflects the mid-tier price point. Owner reports show capable performance on hard floors and low-pile carpet, with slower hair pickup on deep pile than 8,000+ Pa models achieve.
The auto-empty dock uses a 4 liter sealed bag that TP-Link rates for up to 70 days between changes. At that interval the consumable runs roughly five bags a year at $5-8 each, invisible at purchase but part of total cost of ownership.

- Mopping mechanism targets hard floors. Owner reports for Eureka mop-combos note reduced effectiveness on textured carpet; dedicated vacuums outperform here.
- Owners with spotty 2.4GHz-only Wi-Fi coverage
- Eureka J-series use 2.4GHz Wi-Fi exclusively. Homes with 5GHz-only networks or fragmented coverage require mesh upgrades or Wi-Fi extenders.
- Users requiring true Level IV autonomous operation
- Classification at Level III: operates in a mapped environment with occasional human intervention for edge cases. IntelliView recognizes and routes around known object types, but the robot does not adapt to settings outside the map it has been taught.
- High-pile carpet or heavy pet-hair environments
- Suction at 4,200 Pa sits mid-range against flagship models (8,000-22,000 Pa). Owner reports document slower pickup on deep pile and residue remaining after a single pass in heavy-shedding homes.

- Monthly: Clean the dust filter, rinse the station tray, and refresh the 4 L clean and 3.4 L dirty water tanks.
- Every 3-6 months: Replace the 3 L dust bag; Eureka rates one at roughly 75 days, the early edge of this window.
- Every 3-6 months: Replace the mop pads once the surface mats or frays; descale the station’s water circuit with an appliance descaler, not vinegar, if mineral buildup appears.
- Annually: Replace the FlexiRazor roller brush and the filter; replacement runs 6-12 months depending on hair load, and the anti-tangle roller is built to stretch that cycle.
