OWNERSHIP

Living with it.

Proven brushes and cartridge filter design; corded models show steady long-term durability with minimal firmware risk.

No electronics beyond motor controls reduces failure points. Owner reports describe reliable seasonal service over 3-5 years with proper filter maintenance. Brush wear is gradual and expected.

What goes wrong · not yet documented independently

The independent record is still forming. Failure modes are listed once an outside source reports them.

Upkeep routine
Monthly12×/yr
Inspect the dual brush assemblies for debris and wear, and check the swivel cable and the power supply's line cord for cuts or abrasion. Do not operate with a damaged cord.
Seasonal4×/yr
Store the unit and the power supply indoors over winter, out of freeze and direct sun.
As neededno fixed schedule
Lift out the top-loading filter basket, empty it and rinse the screens; the manual's instruction is per cycle, not weekly. Remove the cleaner from the pool before anyone swims. · Replace the brushes once the contact surfaces are worn through.
Safety notes

CautionCorded design requires GFCI outlet: Standard household outlet does not provide electrical protection; a GFCI-protected pool circuit is mandatory.

NotePower cord entanglement risk: Cord does not automatically wind; manual cord management prevents snags and reduces operator drowning or injury risk.

Common questions

What people actually ask.

5 answered
OperationDoes the Warrior SE reach the pool walls and waterline?
Yes. Pentair’s guide describes the unit as scrubbing, vacuuming and filtering the pool including the waterline, and it is sold as covering floor, cove, walls and waterline with high-speed rotary scrubbing.
OwnershipWhat does filtration cost to maintain, and how often?
Filtration runs through a top-loading basket carrying reusable screens, and the unit ships with two sets, ultra-fine and spring. Pentair’s instruction is to rinse the basket after each cleaning cycle. No Pentair document sets a replacement interval or a price for the screens.
OperationHow long does a typical cleaning cycle take?
Most floor coverage occurs within 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Random search means no guaranteed complete coverage; longer cycles may be required for heavy debris.
OperationCan I use the Warrior SE in saltwater pools?
Pentair models are typically chlorine-designed. Saltwater requires corrosion-resistant materials; confirm with Pentair support before use in saltwater systems.
OperationWhat happens if the power cord gets caught on a pool edge?
The cable is not motorized or retractable, so a snag needs attention. Unplug the power supply before handling the cable, and do not reach into the water for it while the unit is running. Remove the cleaner from the pool before anyone swims.
