Laser mapping drives systematic lanes, while Basic Tutorials found mapping less accurate in cloudy water.

The AquaSonar buoy adds underwater app control, and it needs its own charging, with connect.de finding the link unstable.

Roborock RockAqua P1

A first pool robot from a vacuum maker: the camera and route-planning know-how is proven indoors, the underwater hardware is not.

Shallow-ledge cleaning is the headline claim, and nobody outside Roborock has shown it working on a real sun shelf yet.

It cannot be bought anywhere yet. The earliest reported launch is January 2027 in Australia and New Zealand, with no price and no US date.
Buyers who rely on an established repair network
This is Roborock's first pool robot. Its parts channel, warranty terms and service path for submerged hardware have not been published.
Very large pools needing a published size rating
Roborock has published a runtime of up to 3.5 hours but no maximum pool length or area, so fit for a large pool cannot be checked yet.
Pools with persistent algae on plaster walls
No brush type, scrub mechanism or wall-cleaning cycle detail has been published, so performance on stuck algae is undocumented.

  • After every use: Set the robot on its wireless dock to charge, which takes about 6.5 hours per PC-WELT.
  • After every use: Charge the AquaSonar buoy on its own cable, per connect.de and PC-WELT.
  • As needed: Lift out and hose the 5 L basket; ifun.de and PC-WELT found rinsing it awkward.
  • As needed: Rinse the 3 micron ultra-fine filter more often, since connect.de found it clogs faster.
  • As needed: Let it drain and store it dry, out of direct sun, per the manual as cited by PC-WELT.
Roborock RockAqua P1
  • After every use: Retrieve the robot from the waterline and empty the 4-liter basket.
  • After every use: Rinse the two-stage 180 and 70 micron filters.
  • After every use: Recharge the battery before the next cycle.
  • As needed: Clear hair or debris from brushes and drive surfaces.
  • Seasonally: Clean, dry and store the robot out of direct sun at the end of the season.
