Self-empty dock reduces hands-on maintenance but introduces monthly consumable costs and requires dedicated floor space.
The dock washes and dries mop pads at temperatures usually reserved for pricier docks, but structured-light sensors cannot see a charging cable the way a camera-equipped flagship can.
Auto Mop Removal parks the mop before carpet; carpet-border misreads however still let the robot begin mopping onto an area rug until a no-mop zone is drawn.
2.4GHz-only Wi-Fi: a home running a merged or 5GHz-first network may need to split bands before the robot will connect.

- Requires a WiFi connection and an iRobot Home account with persistent cloud connectivity. Camera imagery and map data are processed off-device per iRobot's privacy policy.

What stays your job
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
- After every run: Nothing required; the robot empties its bin into the Clean Base automatically.
- Weekly: Tap out the filter, clear hair from the dual multi-surface brushes and side brush, wipe the cliff sensors and camera lens.
- Every 2 months: Replace the filter. The filter housing is part of the bin structure, not a consumable.
- When the app reports it: Replace the Clean Base bag. iRobot rates the base at up to 60 days of debris; shedding pets and heavy carpet shorten that.
- When worn: Replace the dual multi-surface brushes and side brush. Wear shows as flattened rubber vanes or bent bristles rather than on a fixed calendar.
- Annually: Inspect and clean the dock charging contacts.
- Weekly: Check the main brush and side brush for tangled hair, cables, or cords.
- Monthly: Empty or replace the dock’s self-sealing dust bag and wipe the water tank.
