eufy Omni E25

The HydroJet motorized roller is scraped and re-wetted 120 times a minute during the run and then washed and dried by the station, so the mop never sits dirty; the cost is a station that has to hold clean water, wastewater, detergent and a dust bag in one footprint.

The Omni Station self-empties into a 3 L bag eufy rates for up to 75 days and washes and dries the roller after every run, but it is a large permanent floor fixture and its bag, detergent and roller are recurring purchases.

Roborock S4 Max

No object recognition: with LiDAR, cliff sensors and a bumper but no camera, the S4 Max maps a room accurately and still drives into the cords, socks and pet messes that camera-equipped models identify and route around.

High-pile or shag carpet homes
The HydroJet roller lifts 10.5 mm clear of carpet automatically, so wet mopping does not reach the pile and the moisture concern does not arise. Pile deeper than that 10.5 mm lift is outside what the mechanism clears.
Homes relying on 5GHz-only WiFi networks
Connectivity standard specifies 2.4GHz or dual-band support. Homes with 5GHz-exclusive networks will struggle with app control and updates.
Homes with no permanent floor position for the station
The Omni Station holds a 3 L dust bag, a detergent reservoir, a clean-water tank and a 1.8 L wastewater tank, and it needs a mains outlet with clear approach space in front of it. It is a fixed piece of floor furniture, not something stowed between runs.
Households that will not put a camera on a moving robot
Object recognition on the E25 Omni runs on an onboard RGB camera trained on 200-plus household objects. A LiDAR-only robot gives up that recognition but carries no imaging sensor through the house.
Roborock S4 Max
Owners wanting hands-off dust management
The S4 Max charges on a plain floor-standing base with no auto-empty function. Emptying the 0.46 L bin by hand every one to two runs is part of using it, and no auto-empty retrofit exists for this model.
Large open-plan homes over 2,500 sqft
Single charge supports 110–130 minutes runtime on carpet; large floor plans require multi-session scheduling or manual recharge.
Homes prioritizing quiet operation
Flagship models run 65–68 dB; the S4 Max runs 68–70 dB in standard mode. Noticeable in sound-sensitive environments; use eco mode (quieter, slower) for off-peak times.
High-pile carpet with heavy pet debris load
Suction is solid for daily maintenance but trails S8-series flagships. Owners with thick matted carpet or weekly pet shedding may need stronger brush design.

  • Weekly: Check the HydroJet roller and the main brush for hair wrap and pull it free.
  • As the station prompts: Top up the clean-water tank and empty the 1.8 L wastewater tank. The station washes and dries the roller and refills the robot on its own.
  • Up to every 75 days: Replace the station’s 3 L dust bag.
  • Up to every 6 months: Refill the detergent reservoir.
  • Every 3-6 months: Clean or replace the intake filter; clean the side brush and replace it if the bristles mat.
Roborock S4 Max
  • After every 1-2 uses: Empty the 0.46 L onboard dustbin into the trash. The S4 Max is bagless and has no auto-empty dock, so there is no bag consumable to buy.
  • Monthly: Inspect main brush for bristle loss and embedded hair; clean wheel and side brush; rinse the bin and check its seal.
  • Every 6-8 months: Replace main brush (~$14–18) if bristles show notching or loss.
  • Annually: Replace filter (~$8–14).
  • Every 12-18 months: Replace side brush (~$8–12) depending on pet presence and usage.
