Dreame X30 Ultra

MopExtend improves edge and corner coverage on the robot’s own detection, and the reach it adds is 4 cm, not a room’s worth. It is a mount that swings within the machine’s footprint, not an arm that extends past it.

Automatic pad detach and in-place washing remove the weekly mop chore. The price is a base station 23.2 inches tall on a 13.4 by 18 inch footprint that has to stay put beside an outlet.

Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A

The Multifunctional Dock 3.0 takes over emptying, washing, drying and refilling, but it is a full-size station that needs a permanent spot near an outlet, and its own clean and waste water tanks are still filled and emptied by hand.

Standard dock requires monthly intervention, yet the robot maps like a $1,200 flagship; capability ceiling is high, but ownership floor is unchanged.

Owners wanting minimal dock footprint
The base station measures 13.4 by 18 inches on the floor and stands 23.2 inches tall, so it needs a permanent position against a wall beside an outlet rather than a cabinet slot.
Wi-Fi 5 GHz-only networks or band-locked systems
2.4 GHz is required to provision the robot and reach it from the app; without it there is no pairing, no scheduling and no multi-floor map management. The mechanical behaviors, MopExtend and the carpet pad handling, run on onboard detection and are unaffected by connectivity.
Budget-focused buyers
Street pricing $799-999 seats X30 Ultra in mid-to-premium range. Older Dreame models (L10s Ultra) deliver sealed-floor capability at $549-699 with lower arm-maintenance overhead.
Owners expecting a reaching arm
MopExtend is a mop mount that swings out 4 cm (1.57 in) within the robot's own footprint on edge detection. It does not extend into spaces the robot cannot drive to, and it plays no part in carpet coverage.

Homes with no permanent floor space for a full-size station
The Multifunctional Dock 3.0 holds water tanks, a dust bag and a drying fan. It needs a fixed position on a hard floor next to an outlet and is not a base that gets stowed between runs.
Owners who want a dock with no disposable consumables
The station collects into disposable dust bags rated for up to seven weeks. Bags, mop pads and the filter are ongoing purchases rather than washable-forever parts.
Owners wanting hands-off operation
Dust runs for weeks unattended and the mop pads are washed and dried automatically, but the station's own clean and waste water tanks are filled and emptied by hand. This is low-touch, not no-touch.
WiFi-dependent smart-home integrations
Works over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Homes running 5 GHz-only networks need a separate 2.4 GHz access point for the robot to join and stay connected.

  • After every run: Handled by the station, which washes the mop pads in place with 60 C water and dries them with hot air; pads come off and go back on without owner involvement.
  • Every 3-4 weeks in typical use: Refill the 4.5 L clean water tank with ordinary tap water and empty the waste tank. The station dispenses Dreame’s own cleaning solution into the clean water.
  • Weekly: Wipe the station’s docking contacts and the robot’s sensor windows; clear hair from the main brush and side brush.
  • Every 3 months: Replace the auto-empty dust bag (~$15-20 per bag; expected lifespan 8-12 weeks in typical use).
  • Every 6 months: Replace main brush and side brush (~$30-40 per set), or as wear becomes visible.
  • As pads lose absorbency: Replace the mop pads. In-place washing extends their life but does not remove wear.

  • Weekly: Check the main brush and side brush for wrapped hair; refill the station’s clean-water tank and empty its waste tank.
  • Monthly: Rinse the dust filter and wipe the LiDAR window and cliff sensors with a microfiber cloth.
  • Up to every 7 weeks: Replace the dock dust bag when the app reports it full; Roborock rates the bag for up to seven weeks of collection.
  • As wear shows: Replace mop pads, filter and brushes. Roborock publishes no fixed interval or price for these parts.
  • As needed: Wipe the dock tray if residue builds up between its own hot-water self-clean cycles.
