Roborock
Up to three
All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Samsung Bespoke AI Je… | Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodCapable but overkill for compact homes; a mid-tier Samsung or Roborock delivers similar cleaning at lower cost. | Good210-minute runtime covers compact homes in one pass, but dock occupies significant floor space in tight apartments. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | GoodMulti-room layout ideal for LiDAR mapping and self-emptying dock. Steam sanitization covers common living areas effectively. | GoodIdeal size for LiDAR mapping efficiency and dock placement. Achieves full coverage in single daily cycle. |
| Over 3,000 | GoodLarge homes justify flagship features. Self-emptying dock and steam capability reduce recurring effort on open-floor plans. | GoodMulti-cycle scheduling and dock workflow handles large homes efficiently. Room-by-room execution avoids battery drain. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | Good212°F steam excels on tile, wood, and laminate. Dock auto-wash keeps mop pads sanitized. | GoodMopping and auto-dry dock excel on tile and wood. Hot-water heating prevents mildew; grout lines reduce effectiveness slightly. |
| Low / medium pile | GoodSteam rated for low-pile carpet. Mop pad lifts to prevent overwetting. High performance on dense, short fibers. | GoodManufacturer specs show automatic carpet detection and suction boost. Mopping disables on carpets to prevent water damage. |
| High pile / shag | PoorSteam function disabled on high-pile per manufacturer. Requires no-mop zone mapping; defeats all-surface promise. | PoorOwner reports document suction loss on shag and thick carpets; obstacle detection struggles with deep fiber variation. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |
| Light mopping | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. |
| Frequent mopping | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. |
| You want to… | ||
| Empty bin myself | GoodSelf-emptying and auto-wash dock reduce effort, but steam system requires monthly heater inspection and annual descaling. | GoodWeekly dock filter cleaning and monthly nozzle inspection align with hands-on maintenance style. Consumable-aware owners thrive. |
| Empty occasionallythey differ | GoodDock handles emptying and mop wash. Owner responsibilities limited to brush changes and filter cleaning. | DependsDock maintenance is mandatory weekly; neglecting 60-90 day bag replacement degrades mopping within 2-3 months. |
| Set-and-forgetthey differ | DependsSelf-emptying and auto-wash are strong, but high-pile no-mop zones and thermal maintenance require periodic app intervention. | PoorWeekly filter cleaning and dock care are non-optional; set-and-forget operation fails. Budget Level II vacuums suit hands-off preference. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Suction, Weight.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The steam is for the pads, not the floor. The Clean Station washes the mop pads at 122-140°F, sanitizes them at 212°F and dries them at 131°F. That addresses mop-pad hygiene rather than sanitizing the floor surface, and there is no floor-steaming mode on this machine.
Qualcomm AI processor is a hardware differentiator, not a proven autonomy leap. Feature parity with LiDAR-only competitors; the software advantage remains unquantified by owner reports.
Establishment time (30-45 min initial training, room marking) buys hands-off cycles (leave home, returns to dock, scheduled mopping prep).
All-in-one dock adds mopping and hot-water drying but increases weekly maintenance complexity (filter + nozzle + water-tank lifecycle).
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
