All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Roomba Combo 10 Max | Qrevo Edge 3 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodSingle water tank handles homes under 1,500 sqft; single-run mop completion achievable without dock returns on hard-floor zones. | GoodIn independent lab testing, it took 18 minutes to clean a 204 sq ft area on the normal cycle, so small homes finish quickly. |
| 1,500 – 3,000they differ | DependsHomes 1,500-3,000 sqft require at least one dock return mid-mop for water refill. Vacuum handles full coverage; mopping requires multiple runs. | GoodStuff ran combined mop and vacuum cycles of nearly 90 minutes without the battery running out mid-clean. |
| Over 3,000 | DependsLarge homes over 3,000 sqft require multiple dock returns for mop water. Vacuum performance sustained; mopping zone-by-zone or scheduled separately. | DependsRoborock claims about 3,770 sq ft per charge; no independent run across a home this size has been published. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodMop excels on tile, laminate, and sealed hardwood. Cold-water circulation provides consistent light cleaning without damaging sealed finishes. | GoodIndependent lab testing recorded 94% flour pickup on hard floor, and another reviewer saw an upturned flour bag cleared. |
| Low / medium pile | GoodMop pad auto-lifts on low-pile carpet detection. Vacuum performance on low pile matches j-series standards. Avoid scheduling mop runs on low-pile zones. | GoodOne reviewer found fine dust, crumbs and rice lifted from carpet, with pads raised so rugs stayed dry. |
| High pile / shagthey differ | PoorOwner reports document poor mop performance on plush and high-pile carpet. Mop pad rotates at fixed speed and cannot avoid saturation on thick pile. | DependsRated for pile up to 1.18 in; independent lab testing measured 57% flour pickup on carpet and missed a sock there. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |

A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Suction, Runtime, Charge time, Noise.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The dock solves one problem (manual mop-pad washing) while adding new parts to keep clear: the wash chamber and jets, the water tank, and the drain path. The convenience gain is documented; whether total maintenance burden ends up lower than a simpler combo depends on the home’s water, and no failure data exists to settle it.
SmartScrub, the back-and-forth scrubbing pass iRobot rates at 2x deeper cleaning, is enabled room by room in the app rather than triggered by what the robot senses. The map has to be right and the rooms labeled before it does anything, so the feature that separates this model from a simpler combo depends on setup the owner completes.
The retracting turret buys under-sofa reach, and the reviews show a LiDAR robot that still needs rescuing now and then.
Obstacle recognition that works on light carpet and hard floor missed a sock and a cable on brown carpet, so the floor color decides how much pre-tidying a run needs.
Hot-water pad washing ends the mop smell. The dock’s clean and dirty tanks still go to the sink by hand.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
