Flymo EasiLife 200

Bluetooth rather than Wi-Fi: the Flymo EasiLife app gives full control and scheduling, but only within range of the mower, so there is no status check or remote start from off the property.

LawnSense sets the cadence, not the calendar: cutting frequency adapts to actual grass growth rather than running a fixed program, and FrostSense suspends mowing in frost. That cuts unnecessary runs, and it means the mower’s working days vary week to week.

Husqvarna Automower Aspire R4

The R4 saves $400–$500 in upfront cost compared to GPS-assisted entry models, but random-pattern cutting means no guarantee of complete yard coverage per cycle.

The EasiLife 200 is primarily distributed through European channels. US availability is limited or nonexistent; replacement parts and technical support target UK/EU customers only.

Flymo rates the EasiLife 200 at plus or minus 35 percent incline, which is about 19.5 degrees. Ground steeper than that is outside the rating, and wire-only guidance gives the mower no terrain recognition to compensate.

The EasiLife 200 connects over Bluetooth, so the app works within range of the machine. There is no Wi-Fi or cellular link, and no remote status or remote start from off the property.

Husqvarna rates the Aspire R4 to 25% maximum slope inside the installation area and 10% at the boundary. Yards with banks steeper than that, or with a perimeter run that has to cross a steep pitch, need a model rated higher.

  • Weekly: Inspect boundary wire for visible breaks or loosening; clear grass clippings from the blade deck.
  • Every 3-4 weeks: Replace the blades as cutting quality declines. These are thin flip-and-replace razor blades and must not be sharpened: sharpening removes the coating they rely on and can cause a blade to break on a machine that runs unattended. Replacement blades are available from Husqvarna suppliers.
  • Monthly: Check the dock charging contacts and wipe them clean if oxidation appears.
  • Seasonally: Test boundary-wire continuity after rain or heavy lawn maintenance; repair or re-bury wire if needed.
  • Annually: Before the first cut of the season, confirm the lift and tilt cutoffs stop the blade disc and that the bumper triggers on contact; clean the underside of the chassis and the drive wheels.
Husqvarna Automower Aspire R4
  • After every use: Clear grass clippings and debris from wheels if operating in wet conditions.
  • Weekly: Inspect visible boundary-wire path for displacement or damage; test with included continuity checker.
  • Every 4-8 weeks in season: Replace all three pivoting blades together with their screws. Husqvarna states the blades are not to be sharpened, as sharpening removes the safety coating and can cause breakage on an unattended machine.
