Roborock
Up to three
All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | eufy Omni S2 | Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodCapable but exceeds compact-home needs; premium automation goes underused in smaller spaces. | Good210-minute runtime covers compact homes in one pass, but dock occupies significant floor space in tight apartments. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | GoodCovers multi-floor homes efficiently; 130-minute runtime sufficient with resume capability. | GoodIdeal size for LiDAR mapping efficiency and dock placement. Achieves full coverage in single daily cycle. |
| Over 3,000 | GoodDesigned for large spaces; scheduled multi-zone runs or persistent operation handles coverage. | GoodMulti-cycle scheduling and dock workflow handles large homes efficiently. Room-by-room execution avoids battery drain. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodCore design and roller-mop system optimized for hard-floor homes. | GoodMopping and auto-dry dock excel on tile and wood. Hot-water heating prevents mildew; grout lines reduce effectiveness slightly. |
| Low / medium pile | Good30,000 Pa and roller-mop suit low carpet; hot-wash drying reduces moisture accumulation. | GoodManufacturer specs show automatic carpet detection and suction boost. Mopping disables on carpets to prevent water damage. |
| High pile / shag | PoorSuction and low-pile-optimized mop poor match for shag or high-pile; coverage suffers. | PoorOwner reports document suction loss on shag and thick carpets; obstacle detection struggles with deep fiber variation. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |
| Light mopping | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. |
| Frequent mopping | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. |
| You want to… | ||
| Empty bin myself | GoodDock automation handles most consumables, but water-line inspection and gasket checks require quarterly attention. | GoodWeekly dock filter cleaning and monthly nozzle inspection align with hands-on maintenance style. Consumable-aware owners thrive. |
| Empty occasionallythey differ | GoodAutomated dock cycles reduce hands-on work; seasonal dock service needed. | DependsDock maintenance is mandatory weekly; neglecting 60-90 day bag replacement degrades mopping within 2-3 months. |
| Set-and-forgetthey differ | Depends12-in-1 dock minimizes consumable touch, but heating-element and water-seal failures may demand repair intervention. | PoorWeekly filter cleaning and dock care are non-optional; set-and-forget operation fails. Budget Level II vacuums suit hands-off preference. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Weight.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
12-in-1 dock: solves every consumable task (empty, wash, dry, dispense), but spreads failure risk across electronics, pumps, tanks and thermal systems that need repair.
Hot-water washing with hot-air drying: eufy heats the wash water (70 C, listed as 140 F in US material) and dries the roller with 131 F air, which is what keeps a mop from souring between runs. It is also close to the whole of the $1,599 argument, and stations that dry with unheated air address the same problem more slowly for less.
Establishment time (30-45 min initial training, room marking) buys hands-off cycles (leave home, returns to dock, scheduled mopping prep).
All-in-one dock adds mopping and hot-water drying but increases weekly maintenance complexity (filter + nozzle + water-tank lifecycle).
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
