Narwal
Up to three
All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+… | Narwal T10 |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodThe dock empties, washes and recharges between runs; nothing documented limits coverage of a compact floor plan. | Good150-minute runtime covers apartments under 1,500 sqft in one session; suitable for small hard-floor homes. |
| 1,500 – 3,000they differ | DependsDyson has published no runtime or recharge-and-resume behavior, so whole-home coverage at this size is unverified. | GoodCoverage is approximately 2,000-2,500 sqft per session; larger homes within this range may require dock returns. |
| Over 3,000 | DependsNo runtime, battery or coverage figures exist yet; single-charge reach across a large home is unknown. | DependsRuntime sufficient for sprawling homes if split into scheduled zones; otherwise multiple sessions are required. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodThe UV stain loop and 158°F roller wash are described for hard floors, the surface this machine is built around. | Good3,000 Pa suction and wet-mopping capability are optimized for hard floors; LiDAR navigation works reliably. |
| Low / medium pile | DependsDyson has not published whether the wet roller lifts or how the robot handles low-pile rugs. | DependsMopping mode can damage some low-pile carpets; users must disable mopping on carpet zones via app. |
| High pile / shagthey differ | DependsNo carpet cleaning figures or roller-lift behavior published; deep pile performance is undocumented ahead of launch. | PoorWet-mopping mode is unsuitable for high-pile or shag carpet; suction alone is insufficient without mopping capability. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |
| Light mopping | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. |
| Frequent mopping | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. |
| You want to… | ||
| Empty bin myself | GoodThe dock empties debris and washes the roller itself, so an owner willing to do upkeep has little left to do. | GoodWater tank and dock maintenance require active owner engagement; weekly vinegar flushing recommended in hard-water areas. |
| Empty occasionally | GoodDock handles debris transfer, roller washing at 158°F and drying; you mainly manage water and the dock bin. | GoodDock operations are semi-autonomous; users manage tank refilling and emptying every 2-5 days. |
| Set-and-forgetthey differ | DependsNo plumbed water option or tank sizes are documented, so water refills and dirty-water emptying remain manual. | PoorDespite 'self-washing' marketing, hands-off operation is not realistic; daily tank monitoring and manual intervention required. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Runtime, Charge time, Noise, Weight, Height.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
A stain it can see gets washed until it clears; a stain it cannot classify gets the ordinary pass, and Dyson’s own footnote concedes results vary by stain type.
Hot-water roller washing in the dock removes the grimiest chore, at the cost of a dock that heats water to 158°F beside the floor it serves.
Dock washing and water management require hands-on intervention, tanks empty every 2-5 days; this is not passive operation despite the “self-washing” framing.
Mop mode is session-level rather than room-level because the module is physically swapped: a cycle is a mopping cycle or a vacuuming cycle, never both, and where it mops is bounded by the separate mop map and the magnetic strips rather than mixed room by room within one pass.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
