Dreame
Up to three
All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Dreame L20 Ultra |
|---|---|
| Home size | |
| Under 1,500 sqft | Good120-min runtime covers spaces under 1500 sqft in one pass, but dock footprint occupies 2.5 sqft in compact homes. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | Good120-min runtime handles 1500-3000 sqft in one systematic pass; dock placement is practical in typical layouts. |
| Over 3,000 | Poor120-min runtime insufficient for full-home coverage in spaces over 3000 sqft; multiple docking cycles required. |
| Primary floors | |
| Hard floors | Good4000 Pa suction and dual mop pads excel on hard flooring; owner reports confirm effective cleaning without mode switching. |
| Low / medium pile | Good4000 Pa handles low-pile and berber carpets well; mopping capability extends to threshold transitions between hard and carpet. |
| High pile / shag | Poor4000 Pa insufficient for high-pile or shag carpets; spinning mop pads tangle in long fibers, creating weekly maintenance burden. |
| Mopping needs | |
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |
| Light mopping | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. |
| Frequent mopping | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. |
| Upkeep you accept | |
| Regular upkeep | GoodAbout 125 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Some upkeep | DependsAbout 125 minutes of upkeep a month, which is over an hour. |
| Minimal upkeep | PoorAbout 125 minutes of upkeep a month, which is over an hour. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
These robots share no measured specification with enough published figures to plot. That is a gap in the record, not a finding about the robots.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The base replaces manual mopping, pad washing and pad drying but demands roughly 2.5 sq ft of floor space and mains power for the hot-air drying cycle, which is the heaviest electrical load in the system. Dreame publishes no wattage figure for it.
Auto mop removal lets the base take the pads off so carpet is vacuumed dry rather than damp, but the robot has to drive back to the base and out again mid-cycle to do it.
LiDAR mapping is unaffected by room lighting and holds a stable map, but obstacle avoidance still leans on camera recognition, which is where dark and transparent objects cause misses.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
Robovations classifies robots; it does not rank them. Nothing on this page is a recommendation, and no manufacturer influences a classification or its placement here.
Comparing across classes is allowed — the page will switch to per-class positioning and tell you it has.
