What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.

Dreame Bot W10

The dock washes and hot-air dries the pads without help, but the pads themselves never lift: any carpet inside a mopping zone has to be excluded in the app or the pads taken off by hand.

LiDAR mapping is solid and enables multi-floor handoff, but 4,000 Pa suction is below current flagships. Capability ceiling is ceiling, not floor, for pet homes.

ROIDMI EVA

The dock is designed to self-empty and self-wash mop pads, but an independent review found the design under-delivered on both counts in practice, before the manufacturer’s closure removed any path to a fix.

Remaining retail inventory can still be found through some third-party channels, but buying it now means buying a robot with no manufacturer support of any kind.

Who each one is wrong for

Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.

Dreame Bot W10
Homes with rugs or carpet inside the mopped rooms
The two mop pads are fixed to the underside and do not lift. Dreame's guidance is not to run them over carpet, so a mopping pass through a room with a rug in it means pulling the pads off by hand first or excluding the area in the app.
Pet-hair-heavy carpet homes
LiDAR handles carpet detection well, but suction (4,000 Pa) is mid-range for 2021. Heavy pet shedding results in frequent brush tangles; LiDAR does not compensate for lower suction on high-pile.
Apartment dwellers with space constraints
Dock is large (23" × 15" footprint) and requires a drying rack nearby. Not suitable for compact apartments or homes where dock placement is limited.
High-pile or long-fiber carpet primary surfaces
4,000 Pa suction is adequate for low-pile and hard floors. Owner reports show visible dirt retention on shag or high-pile; LiDAR excels at mapping but suction underperforms the category baseline for 2024+.
ROIDMI EVA
Buyers wanting any form of manufacturer support
Roidmi has ceased operations and discontinued product maintenance, returns, and after-sales service.
Large homes needing a single uninterrupted cleaning run
An independent review found the dustbin fills too fast to complete a full-floor clean without manual emptying.
Buyers relying on the dock to fully dry mop pads unattended

What stays your job

  • Before any carpet run: Remove the mop pads by hand. They are fixed and do not lift.
  • Weekly: Empty, rinse and refill the dock’s clean and dirty water tanks. Wipe LiDAR lens with soft, dry cloth. Wipe the dock inlet water filter with a dry cloth.
  • Every 3–4 weeks: Replace mop pads (cost $12–15 per pair). Inspect main brush for hair tangles; trim as needed.
  • Every 6 months: Replace dust bin filter (cost $8–12); clean dock exterior and water tank seals.
  • Annually: Clean dock water pump inlet screens.
ROIDMI EVA
  • Cadence: Empty the dust bag roughly every 60 days, per manufacturer specification.
  • Water tanks: Refill and empty the dock’s dual clean/dirty water tanks.
  • Mop pad drying: An independent review found pads remained damp more than 12 hours after the dock’s drying cycle, which in practice may require manual intervention.
  • Setup: Define no-go and no-mop zones in the app.
