Vacuum Wars listed a $799.99 MSRP with U.S. availability set for September 7. Narwal's U.S. product page still read Coming Soon in mid-September, so watch for the actual ship date.

    Impact on autonomy

    • Hidden dToF LiDAR handles navigation without a raised turret.
    • Dual-sided 3D structured light handles obstacle avoidance instead of RGB cameras.
    • CNET notes it lacks the Freo 20's AI object and clutter recognition.

    Impact on readiness

    • Announced U.S. MSRP is $799.99, $300 below the Freo 20.
    • Stated U.S. availability date was September 7, 2026.
    • The 9.5 cm body is built to reach under low furniture.

    Announcement

Vacuum Wars reported on September 3, 2026 that Narwal had unveiled its fall lineup at IFA in Berlin, including the recently released Freo 20 and the upcoming Freo 20 Edge. Its comparison table lists the Freo 20 Edge at a $799.99 MSRP with U.S. availability on September 7, against $1,099.99 and immediate availability for the Freo 20. CNET, reporting from the same show, said Narwal’s FlowWash mopping had moved from the flagship Flow series to models including the Freo 20 and Freo 20 Edge.

How the Freo 20 Edge differs

Both Freo 20 models share 31,000 Pa of claimed suction, FlowWash, the DualFlow anti-tangle system, EdgeReach cleaning and a 9.5 cm height. Vacuum Wars lists hidden dToF LiDAR navigation and dual-sided 3D structured-light obstacle avoidance for the Edge, versus dual RGB cameras with AI recognition of more than 300 objects on the Freo 20. CNET describes the Edge as better suited to apartments and less complicated spaces for that reason.

    FlowWash

Vacuum Wars describes a flattened track mop cleaned continuously while the robot runs, with a 16-nozzle water system, a scraper for dirty water, water heated to 60 degrees Celsius and 12N of downward pressure.
