  2. Dolphin Explorer E70 owners report persistent MyDolphin Plus WiFi pairing failures

Owner reviews posted within six months of the Explorer E70's March 2022 launch describe MyDolphin Plus repeatedly failing to pair over WiFi, in one case with no response from Maytronics support.

One reviewer resolved the failure only by installing an older app build and disabling automatic updates. Whether later app releases addressed the pairing failure is not documented.

    Impact on autonomy

    • Autonomous cleaning cycles and three-motor navigation are unaffected; the fault is app pairing only
    • Manual button start on the power supply remains available when WiFi pairing fails

    Impact on readiness

    • App-only scheduling assumes reliable WiFi pairing that some owners could not achieve
    • One reviewer reported no response from Maytronics support after the pairing failure

    Claim check3 claims reviewed

WiFi app control delivers hands-off scheduling and remote start from the MyDolphin Plus app
Owner reviews posted in September 2022 document the app repeatedly failing to pair over WiFi on new units
MyDolphin Plus is presented in marketing and reviews as simple to set up and easy to use
One reviewer reported the app would not connect regardless of troubleshooting steps, and the QR pairing step returned an error page
Maytronics support is positioned to help owners resolve setup and connectivity issues
A separate reviewer reported no response from support after the WiFi connection could not be established

Bottom lineThe documented pairing failures affected app control and remote scheduling, not the robot's autonomous cleaning cycle once started from the power supply button.

    Reported Failure Pattern

Owner reviews posted on RoboticReviews.com in September 2022, roughly six months after the Explorer E70’s March 2022 launch, describe the MyDolphin Plus app failing to pair with the power supply over WiFi. One reviewer described the QR pairing step returning an error page regardless of device, reporting a current-generation Samsung Galaxy Android phone with no other WiFi devices on the same network affected.

    Owner Workaround

The same reviewer reported resolving the pairing failure by installing MyDolphin Plus version 1.4.1 in place of the version then live on the app store, then disabling automatic app updates to keep that build in place. Maytronics does not publish a per-version changelog for the Dolphin app line, so what changed between builds is not documented.

    Scope

A separate reviewer that same month reported the unit never pairing to the home network and no response after contacting Maytronics support. The E70 connects on 2.4 GHz WiFi only; when the app cannot pair, a cleaning cycle can still be started from a button on the deck-side power supply.
