TechCrunch reported on January 4, 2022 that Labrador Systems was showing the Retriever at CES 2022, following prototype deployments with select users the previous year, and that early adopters could secure a unit for $1,500 up front plus a monthly services fee of $99 to $149. It reported plans for commercial sales in the second half of 2023 at a range of price points. The Robot Report reported the same day on the Retriever and the entry-level Caddie, and on a $3.1 million seed round co-led by Amazon’s Alexa Fund and iRobot Ventures.
