Mains power removes any runtime ceiling, but it ties the cleaner to an outlet at the deck, and the cable comes out of the water and gets coiled after every cycle.

Mains power over a 70 ft cable takes charging and battery aging out of ownership entirely, but the cable has to be untwisted after runs, inspected for damage, and managed at the pool edge. Cordless units drop the tether and take on a battery instead.

Pools longer than 50 ft

Maytronics rates the S200 for pools up to 50 ft in length. Longer pools fall outside that rating.

Pools without power access at the deck

This model requires a standard 110V outlet within cable reach. Pools far from outdoor power access will need extension cords, adding complexity.

Yards with limited outlet access

60-foot cable is the maximum reach. Pools far from power sources require extension cords, adding complexity.

Operators wanting app scheduling or remote monitoring

There is no Wi-Fi, no app and no network connection of any kind. Scheduling is set on the onboard 7-day timer and manual control is a handheld remote, both of them local to the poolside.

Pools with complex geometry and tight corners

The unit runs pre-programmed patterns rather than mapping the pool, and its 4WD body is bulky in tight corners. Compact pools with numerous tanning ledges, niches and step returns see uneven coverage.

Above-ground pools or pools with minimal cable infrastructure

9550 Sport assumes in-ground pools with standard cable storage and management. Above-ground and natural pools lack the electrical infrastructure and cable routing assumed in product design.
