You are paying for a claimed 3x carpet improvement that nobody outside iRobot has independently measured.

Hot-water roller washing removes manual mop upkeep because the dock handles the wash and dry cycle itself; it also converts a simple nozzle clog into a heating-circuit and pump fault to troubleshoot.

Zero field history at launch: every dependability figure here rests on a spec sheet, not an ownership record.

MOVA S70 Pro Roller

Hard-floor mopping and vacuuming scored top marks in I’mTech’s test, while carpet edges and corners were left uncleaned.

The turretless dToF sensor keeps the robot 91.5 mm tall, and I’mTech saw it dither while finding its bearings.

Who each one is wrong for

The AutoWash Dock needs permanent AC power and a fixed footprint; moving it means the robot has to re-orient against its stored LiDAR map, which is disruptive for temporary living situations.
Owners of delicate, fringed or tasseled area rugs
SealForce lowers a physical skirt around the cleaning head on carpet detection; iRobot has not published guidance on tasseled or loose-weave rugs, and a lowering skirt is a plausible snag point worth flagging.
Multi-floor homes wanting one dock per level
iRobot has not published multi-dock or portable-basestation support for this model; carrying the robot between floors means re-establishing the map each time rather than a dedicated dock per level.
Buyers wanting an established field record before purchase

  • Weekly: Refill the dock’s clean-water tank and empty any wash-tray residue.
  • Monthly: Clear hair from the roller mop and side brush; wipe sensor windows and wheels.
  • Every 3-6 months: Replace the carbon AllergenLock debris bag, rated by iRobot for up to 90 days of collection.
  • Every 3-6 months: Check the dock’s water lines for mineral buildup if filled with hard water.
  • Annually: Replace the robot’s filter and inspect dock hose connections for wear.
  • As needed: Wipe the SealForce skirt and cleaning-head seal so it lowers and seals correctly on carpet.

  • After every use: Empty the 4.5 L dirty water tank, per I’mTech.
