The 435X AWD sits at the top of the consumer Automower price list, yet wire remains the primary guidance: the AWD chassis buys traction on ground standard models cannot hold, not freedom from the perimeter, and the boundary itself is capped at 50% against the machine’s 70%.

Roborock RockMow X120H LiDAR

LiDAR removes the RTK antenna from the setup, but every navigation claim still rests on Roborock alone.

Four driven wheels and suspension for 80% slopes come at $3,199, more than twice the RockNeo Q110H’s $1,299.

Who each one is wrong for

At about $5,499 MSRP the 435X AWD is the most expensive machine in the consumer Automower line, and the all-wheel-drive chassis is what the premium buys. On flat or gently sloped ground that chassis does no work the wheeled models do not already do.
Compact yards or apartment properties requiring minimal storage footprint
At 21.7 in wide, 36.6 in long and 39 lb the machine needs garage or shed space, and its charging station needs a permanent outdoor position with power. Not suited to balcony storage.
Owners unable to commit to perimeter-wire installation on complex multi-slope boundaries
Every working area has to be wired before first use, and the boundary must be routed across ground at or below Husqvarna's 50% limit rather than following the steepest edge of the property. On broken terrain that can mean a longer perimeter than the plot outline suggests.

  • Weekly: Inspect wheels and AWD drive components for debris accumulation in rough terrain; clear mud and packed soil.
  • Bi-weekly (rough terrain): Check the blades for damage from rocks or roots and replace them if damaged. Husqvarna states that sharpening a blade weakens its coating and can cause the blade to break in use, so blades are replaced rather than resharpened.
  • Monthly: Clean dock contacts and mower sensor pads; inspect perimeter-wire routing on slopes for displacement or slack.
  • Every 4 to 8 weeks: Replace the blades. Husqvarna publishes this interval for all Automower models, in calendar time rather than operating hours, and all three pivoting blades are changed together along with their screws.
  • Before winter storage: Charge the battery, clean the machine, and store it dry and above freezing. The pack is lithium-ion and should not be run down before a long layup.
Roborock RockMow X120H LiDAR
  • As needed: Rinse the IPX6 body with a hose, which Roborock says is safe.
  • As needed: Wipe the LiDAR with the included lint-free cloth.
  • As needed: Replace the blades; an extra set comes in the box and Roborock sells replacements.
  • As needed: Adjust the cutting height between 1.6 and 3.5 inches for the season.
  • As needed: Check the 4G tracking status in the app; Amazon’s listing includes three years of service.
