Husqvarna Automower 410 iQ · Roborock RockMow X120H LiDAR

All robot lawn mowers. Every measure below is plotted against the full class, so a difference can be read against how much the class itself varies.

01 Classification

What each one does on its own.

The Autonomy Ladder is the same five rungs for every robot on the site. A rung describes the conditions a robot handles without you, not how good it is.

V
Generalized
Any task, any setting
IV
Environmental
Handles new obstacles without help
III
Conditional
Finishes familiar jobs on its own

Runs preset routines, needs rescue
I

02 Assessment

Where they actually differ.

The Robovations Score is nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so that more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart. Cost of ownership and data handling are reported on each robot's own page and are never averaged into the score.

03 Measured against the class

How far apart is a long way?

A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track below is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.

Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Suction, Charge time, Noise, Weight, Height.

04 Ownership

What the numbers leave out.

The trade-off

What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.

Husqvarna Automower 410 iQ

Satellite positioning draws straight, overlapping stripes; radar alone did little to keep it off a tester’s foot.

Boundaries are exact to the waypoint, which also means every curve is a string of waypoints to drop by hand.

Roborock RockMow X120H LiDAR

LiDAR removes the RTK antenna from the setup, but every navigation claim still rests on Roborock alone.

Four driven wheels and suspension for 80% slopes come at $3,199, more than twice the RockNeo Q110H’s $1,299.

Who each one is wrong for

Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.

Husqvarna Automower 410 iQ
Yards where children or pets play during mowing
CNET's tester found the radar did little and the mower tried to run over his foot twice.
Curved lawns with many beds and borders
CNET found waypoint-by-waypoint boundary setup tedious on curves, and Popular Mechanics notes 90-degree corners should be crossed diagonally, leaving them for a trimmer.
Gardens edged with low walls
Without a camera, CNET's unit popped a wheelie on a low brick garden wall.
Owners who want to reset it rarely
CNET found hiccups needed start and stop button combinations with the PIN re-entered, including a recurring loop sensor error on the charger.
Roborock RockMow X120H LiDAR
Lawns larger than half an acre
Roborock's rating of 0.49 acre per day falls short of larger properties.
Grass kept taller than 3.5 inches
The maximum cutting height on the Amazon listing is 3.5 inches.
Buyers who want independent test results first
Coverage found so far repeats Roborock's specifications; no hands-on test of mapping, slopes or obstacle handling has been published.
Yards that need a boundary wire option
It has no perimeter-wire mode; it maps and bounds the lawn with LiDAR and cameras.

What stays your job

The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.

Husqvarna Automower 410 iQ

  • As needed: Re-enter the PIN after resets, which CNET found frequent.
  • As needed: Adjust waypoints and zones in the app as beds change, per Popular Mechanics.
  • As needed: Trim square corners the mower crosses diagonally.
  • Seasonally: Update schedules and cutting heights as grass growth changes.
Roborock RockMow X120H LiDAR
  • As needed: Rinse the IPX6 body with a hose, which Roborock says is safe.
  • As needed: Wipe the LiDAR with the included lint-free cloth.
  • As needed: Replace the blades; an extra set comes in the box and Roborock sells replacements.
  • As needed: Adjust the cutting height between 1.6 and 3.5 inches for the season.
  • As needed: Check the 4G tracking status in the app; Amazon’s listing includes three years of service.
05 Evidence

How much each of these is standing on.

Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Robovations classifies robots; it does not rank them. Nothing on this page is a recommendation, and no manufacturer influences a classification or its placement here.
